It sounds like you should first look for the people who broke in and tied you up (but didn't kill you for some reason). If you've killed before, as you suggest, you probably have more enemies than you realize. Also, the perp has your personal number so it is likely someone who knows you or is owed money/drugs. You may also reconsider stashing weapons and just carry a sidearm.
