I personally really like Ralph, he’s got so many great one liners. “Me fail English? That’s unpossible”

A really good underrated one is Roy from the Poochie episode.

Kirk Van Houten might be one of the funniest characters that has the least amount of critical screen time.

Can I borrow a feeling

No, but Kirk could definitely borrow some art lessons. Couldn't draw dignity to save his life or marriage.
Did any of you guys ever notice that if you took off the end "er" from his name, moved the "b" to after the "i" and then added an "l" to the "b" that you just moved, you'd spell "Bible"?

I'm watching TOH IV right now and just heard my favorite Lionel Hutz line: "Mrs. Simpson, don't you worry. I watched Matlock in a bar last night. The sound wasn't on, but I think I got the gist of it."

Actually underrated: Maggie because she is funny without lines.

Favorite Springfield rando: Fat Tony, the plot or gag usually has to get kinda weird for him to be used.

Favorite one-off: Tie between Poochie and Hank Scorpio.

Favorite celebrity guest: Micheal Jackson

Mate that is Tom "Libba" Liberatore, Aussie rules footballer for the mighty Western Bulldogs. He is something of a cultural anomaly in modern footy, as implied by these tattoos, as well as being an absolute gun and genuine hard nut.

I also really like Kurt VanHouten’s apology/make-up song, “Can I Borrow a Feeling” even if it is only a stanza or two long.

I feel the same about Drederick Tatum.

Interviewer #1: Champ, do you feel remorse for your crime?

Drederick Tatum: Oh, yes. Believe me, my god, if I could turn back the clock on my mother's stair-pushing, I would certainly, reconsider it.

Interviewer #2: Drederick, ah, what do you think of Homer Simpson?

Drederick Tatum: I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

Interviewer #3: Uh, you know, they do have a mother, Champ?

Drederick Tatum: Yes, but I would imagine that she would die of grief.

I take everything I said back. The board hit me in the nuts for the first time ever today, because i was wearing these shits.

And then he sings the tune to Louann at the end, and she bluntly rejects him again, hahaha. Classic episode.

God this thread keeps piling up with the best. Thank you OS for starting this!

Today's one-off award goes to fictitious George H.W. Bush from season 7

So many killer lines and bits from this episode, hahaha.

Brilliant.

Also, I second Johnny Tight Lips. What an amazing bit.

Been charging through a full series rewatch, seasons 2-9 are truly pinnacle television. I think today it's really easy to underestimate the impact that the Simpsons has had on the modern comedy zeitgeist, but watching back you can see a lot of the absurdist humor that became more prevalent into the 2000's and on.

The Van Houten's are the favorite, but I always enjoy a good Jasper/Frostillicus appearance.
