I'm genuinely curious as to why people love Photosynthesis so much. Could anyone fill me in, please?
It’s artsy, it’s gritty, it’s cohesive, has good music, and great skating.
A lot of great East Coast plaza/ledge skating when so much of the industry was California Rail-Skating. As someone who grew up in a cold-weather city off a great lake, the spots they skated were much more relatable than Cali rails with perfect run-ups. There were obviously great east coast videos before that such as EE3, but it felt like the first major video from a big brand that was predominately East-Coast spots between Kalis, Dill, Pops, Wenning and most of the Habitat section.
i deffo prefer east coast skating, i guess i just really dislike early-2000s aesthetic of baggy clothes (especially white dudes), crooks everywhere, and run-of-the-mill trick selection. habitat section was solid, but the rest had choppy editing, and i highly disagree that it was cohesive (obviously, a matter of opinion).
this honestly seems more like a case of needing to exist in the context. i started skating in this era but missed this video, and i don't think most of the non-ledge skating holds up well, honestly. seems like maybe nostalgia's a big factor?
