I used to grind out flat spots on my wheels with a bench top grinder. Worked great at removing flat spots but back in the mid 90's, there wasn't much wheel to grind down.

Wish I had seen this before I tossed my Pig Prime wheels, would have been worth a shot. I have a hard time seeing myself grinding/sanding wheels to be nice and round though.

So many great ideas in this thread!

Here is what works for me:
Use of additional washers to keep the nuts flush on the axles.
Periodically cleaning bearing with acetone in the bones bearings cleaner contraption.
Not popping off the shields of bearings.
Super glue on laces/high wear areas.
Skating switch
Purchasing wheels 1-2 millimeters above what your ideal preference is.
Rotating wheels periodically.
No rage focusing.  So you cracked your tail somewhat. You can still switch manual, nose manual, nollie nose manual, etc.

Perhaps this is most important, know that karma is real.  If you see a young kid with a REALLY shit setup, do what you can to help them out.

As an aside El Fapinator, those toes are long as hell.  There must be a niche fetish for long toes, I wouldn't be surprised if you could make some serious coin on obscure fetish sites.

Yeah I'm 6'2" and it's not the first time I've heard that about my toes.  How the fuck would I go about finding such foot fetish sites?

My grip job sucks I know but it really is hard out here these days, probably going to buy a shit load of Jessup grip and do it over again. I just wanted to show for posterity that recycling grip is possible just it might suck for a bit but we all gotta do what we gotta do.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a reddit community for it.

when your truck axles get bent/threaded you can file down the angle to make like a spear shape so the nut can get to the next thread....its easier to explain if you watch the video

degros had a metal file, i used common sandpaper and this wood-rubbing porous sponge thing to file down my axles - it worked  :)

also i use 2 nuts on a very loose hardware bolt
Nah i skate big boards cause i got big ass feet and a big ass dick

Turn a loose axle nut around and put it on backwards...works in a pinch

For your wheel bolts if they keep screwing off on you, flip them around so that the flat squarer side sits outward. Screw it in as much as you can but not all the way in. Then take a hammer and bash at it till it won't spin anymore.

I rotate out bearings and clean them all the time....vs. just throwing them out.  I never want to switch my trucks around but I think I'll use an old front hanger when my back truck hits axel...

how u gon get the bearings/wheel out tho

its gon fuck the axles even more just rethread or file it down to a point so the nut can contact the next thread

at that point i'd say it's more of a last ditch effort to extend the life as opposed to a solution, in my experience by the time you're having issues with axle nuts coming off constantly it's probably time for a new set anyway.

As mentioned, the best fix for axle nuts is to make it so that its pretty much flush with the end.
If not you should 100% buy a skate tool with rethreader. 100% Worth it
