Swapping stock bushings for Bones Mediums
« on: August 14, 2020, 10:20:28 AM »
I recently swapped my stock indy bushings for some Bones Mediums. I've noticed that after every session my trucks are super loose. I will tighten them a little bit before I go skate and by the end of the session they are super loose Daewon jiggle status.

I'm not using a bottom washer and I'm using the Bones top washer with no indy washers. Is this normal?

bottom washer should solve that issue
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

I use the metal washer on the top bushing but not the bottom for my Bones Mediums and they feel great.

The metal bones top washer or the Indy/whatever brand trucks you use?

I just checked and they are the Bones washer. Forgot that they actually came with some. Using a bottom washer would probably help.

Ride em wiggly loose all the time and it won’t be a problem.

Sounds like your plastic thingy on top of urethane has already starting to sink in, has happened to me with every set. Get some full urethane bushings without any plastic on em....

In my experience, Bones deform and squish through no matter what, no washer as recommended, 1 washer, 2 washers, hate them.

You went from barrel to conical bottom bushings. You’ll get a faster response, hence the looser feel.

While the bottom washer will help expect that looser feeling. I had the same experience the first time I did it. Then I got used to looser trucks and to stay away from conical bushings.

I used to skate Ventures with bones. I would reuse the stock top washer's but I would put them under the bottom bushings. Then I used the flat bones washer on top like normal. I no longer had that rattle that your talking about. That being said I skate Indys now and tried the same thing and hated it. So I threw some black Indy bushings in them and it's perfect for me.
