FA Board warped
« on: August 20, 2020, 06:59:12 PM »
Got this FA board a few months ago, now it won't roll straight. Tried checking the trucks etc. then took one truck off and noticed the board looks warped. I don't know if the board is P.S stix or Bareback
Is this normal for FA boards?
Do boards just warp over time anyway?
The board was ok, but decided to change out the bushings for bones medium, should have got hard, maybe will change back to the factory bushing.
I live in a humid climate, so maybe its normal for a board to warp

Set up
Board: 8.25 FA Kevin Bradley Lot
Trucks: Team Thunder Hollow 149 (I think)
Wheels: Spitfire Quartersnacks F4 classic 53mm
Bearings: Bones Reds
Bushings: Bones medium

Anyone had the same problem with FA
I really like the shape and the company, but this has put me off their shit
I started skating again after a 20 year break, so learning now about all this stuff
Any recommendations for companies with reliable wood and good shapes?

I think writing that S on your board spooked the crap out of the veneers and caused it to warp. Or one of your wheels is a millimeter off and that could have caused it. Maybe blame spitfire for not having wheels all the same size?

Hope this helps.

I've had this Pocket Pistols deck for maybe three weeks and it is super warped. It was pretty close to this when I got it, so nothing done on my part. Not very happy about it.

Got this FA board a few months ago

Has it spent much time in the sun or in a car and maybe going over a puddle or two

No I've tried to be really careful that it doesn't get wet or stay in the sun or car

It is a heavy board, but I love the shape

I put the factory bushings back in and I think that helped.

At the moment I like the trucks to be pretty tight so maybe need hard bushings
Also I stripped one of the kingpin bolts so ordered a replacement

Gonna come off as a cocksucker but idk why this is an issue.

I don't think my board rolls straight ever because of the trucks, boards warped, or whatever it doesn't really matter.

Just skate it, if it's really that big of an issue replace it. You've had it for two months.

You’re probably right, just skate it, or get a new one

How long does a board last?
I've been skating it most days for 3 months, mostly flat ground basic tricks, no big drops. So board in ok shape apart from starting to razor tail. Whats the life, like 2-6 months?

everyone's different. if i'm skating several days a week, for at least an hour, on rough pavement, a deck will last me a month and a half tops. if its only once a week on smooth skatepark ground then it may last for months.

this is such a dumb question, when you lose pop, chip it heavily or razor tail the shit out of it buy a new one. boards dont have a set amount of months they last homie.
