80kg

Thunder 148 teams with stock board side and bones med road side (bones washer) - solid med/loose nut flush
- Going to try next with bones meds and stock washers top and bottom
Indy 149ti with bones hard, broken in good - solid med/loose nut flush
- Happy

200lbs, Thunder 148 teams with stock upper bushings and Krux barrel bushings on the bottom. Kills the twitchiness and wheelbite Thunders are known for. I ride them medium/medium-loose and they feel like a lighter, turnier Venture. I also have stock 5.6’s on another set up but don’t use it as much.

I skate mainly manny pads, ledges, flat and banks. Low impact, old man stuff.
[close]
Gonna try this one out for my other setup

I've tried Thunders (and Theeve) with barrels before and couldn't stick with it, on thunders they just made them feel 'meh' to me; losing the native characteristics of Thunders, I'd rather just ride ventures with soft bushings and not worry about the stubby baseplate :P

I usually go with Bones bushings in my thunders because I rarely have ever had them break on me. I’ve been running the stock thunder bushings and they’re just about full blown out and my board always gets stuck turning.
On an upside though, they don’t squeak and I seem to always get a bad squeak with Bones bushings.

sad to say after a while of staying solid, im just gonna say fuck it and buy ace low bushings to go with the classic bottoms. need my trucks to still feel loose with the nut flush. huge pet peeve
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

200 lbs venture 5.2 highs with the soft white conical Indy bushings. I went down to an 8.12 from 8.5 so Im running my trucks a little looser.

Crusty street setup: Independent Forged Titanium 144, Medium do-doh's (flat top, no bottom washer)

Just set up some ACE 44 for the first time
Didn't really feel the stock bushings. Gave them a few sessions to break in but it doesn't seem like it went the right way for me. Changed them for bones medium, feels better.

I'm confused because i read / heard people saying Ace stock bushings are really good and already broken in. Wasn't really my experience to be honest. Am i missing something ?

I come from Indys 144 Forged / stock bushings

Depends on what you are after, the dual duro combo of stock aces (softer bottom, harder top) is to give it a quick turn (soft bottom) and a quick snap back to center (harder top) combined is to give you that feeling of a really responsive turny truck (compared to that smooth arc Indy have).

Bones meds makes them a bit stiffer/snappy taking away from the carve...

I'd give the stocks a few more sessions to settle in or just fuck it and stay with bones meds if they are working.

Same. But I'm gonna keep at it for another couple sessions and see if they break in. Coming from Thunders

5 10, 155, 10.5 shoe. I ride thunder 148 with stock bushings, but when they wear out I get bones medium. For all around at the park and some street ledges and bumps.

148 lbs. Mostly curbs, parks and DIYs.

Stock Ace in my 44s and 55s and stock Indys in my 149s and 159s. When the indy
bushings need replacing I go with the orange 90a indy aftermarkets conicals.

200 lbs, 159 ti indy, bones hard, park

Edit: I just switched back to stock indy bushings and I think I was missing a little turn with bones hard. Beyond the obvious, that the stock bushings are softer but my actual turning radius before wheelbite seems better.

200lbs Ace 44's stock bushings, no top washer. Used the Bones top washers on them for awhile but I wanted to turn even more so I took them off.

Are they the newer Ace's? I find their bottom bushing to be the greatest bushing formula ever, everything else feels like plastic now. I use Ace an bottom, stock top in any setup I have, except Krux I go Ace top and bottom (greatest turn ever). It's probably my post you read before, so maybe it's just me.

I don't think the newer ace's are available in Europe ( i don't think they are out anywhere else yet, correct me if i'm wrong).
But yeah i need to give these stock bushings another try, that's for sure

Just bought some Indy Mids, and I’m having bushing problems.

I’m on the heavy side, weighing 190lbs. I ride my trucks medium.

The Mids come with the standard orange bushings, but I tighten them down as far as I could and they’re way too loose still. Either the kingpin hit the board, or the kingpin ran out of thread.

I swapped out the stock orange bushings for the Indy Hard bushings (black). They’re not bad, but I keep wanting to loosen them. The hard bushing just don’t have the responsiveness and bounce I like.

I would get the Indy Medium-Hard bushings (blue), but I can’t find them anywhere. Shorty’s Doh-Doh’s has some that are 92a, same as the Indy Medium-Hard.

Anyone have any advice or experience with this? Are Doh-Doh’s any good? Are they the same height as Indy bushings?

Thank you in advance!

How long have you been skating the Indy black bushings? I hated them when I first got them but they felt great after breaking in (maybe took 2 weeks or so).

I'm running 92a Doh-Doh's in titanium indy's, and they fit fine. They used to be the go-to alternative bushing back in the day. Krux are probably my favorite 92a bushings, though.

240, venture lo 5.2 or 5.0 depending on board, green super cush bearings. Flat, ledges, banks and gaps from time to time. No rails.

Once in a while I'll pop in my indy stage 7 for giggles. stock.

Just purchased two sets of ace low and one set of ace classic bushings to use in any trucks I skate. The formula is just too good. I was running bones medium in my indy's and they started breaking off of the plastic piece about 5-6 sessions in.

We’re in quarantine so I’m not weighing myself because I don’t need that negativity.
I’ve been running stock because there’s some magic to it.
Indy - 129(these feel harder than what I’m used to but I blame the size) and 169
Thunder - 151
Venture - 6.1 (Riptide pivot cups, swapped baseplate for one with a hollow kingpin)
Nothing I do deserves more than an iphone camera.

Indys with a bones hard on top and an Indy aftermarket hard on bottom, because for bones the bottom bushings always tends to mush out pretty quickly for me.

205lbs
MiniLogo medium bushings, no washers, on Mini Logo trucks.
I’ve tried their hard and soft bushings and bones hardcore and medium core. ML mediums work the best for me.
