Favorite Bowie Album?
« on: September 13, 2020, 06:48:53 PM »
He has such a diverse catalog and up until recently I had mainly only heard Ziggy Stardust (I know.) I picked up a copy of Young Americans the other day because of Fame (Chico!!!) and it's really fucking good. Tell me your favorites so I know what to check out next  :)

The Berlin Trilogy albums are probably my favorite era of his, definitely the ones I listen to the most. He put out so much good stuff though.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but as much as I like aaalllll of his stuff... Blackstar was a fucking awesome and perfect album. Also is incredibly sad and happy at the same time. I love it.

Agreed
There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.

probably ziggy and the spiders from mars if I absolutely had to pick one. But hunky dory, the man who sold the world, diamond dogs, scary monsters and super creeps are all equally good too, as is everything else....

used to be obsessed. station to station was my favorite, by far his darkest album. it's interesting to read about the kind of head-space he was in when he wrote that album. he wrote it when he lived in LA, and if i recall correctly his diet only consisted of milk, peppers, and cocaine. he also thought his swimming pool was haunted

I’m going to go with Hunky Dory although I might say Ziggy Stardust if radio hadn’t made certain tracks overfamiliar. That’s one of he strongest side B’s ever.

i love it all

diamond dogs maybe the most? i had a diamond dogs tshirt from davidbowie.com back in the day

some of his best stuff you have to dig for(in my opinion)
bbc versions, demos, alternate takes.

Used to be Low but now it is Station To Station. Need to listen to Outside...the track "I'm Deranged" from Lost Highway was my introduction to Bowie.

Station to station
Hunky dory
Low

Only got into Station to Station last year and it's great as are Hunky Dory and Low.

Ziggy Stardust is probably his most perfect album. The Man Who Sold the World is good too.

I'm a big Bowie fan and I love how timeless his music is. The more I listen to it and the more albums I check out, the more I love him and his music
