searching for a lakai shoe name (~2008)
« on: September 16, 2020, 04:07:26 AM »
I just remembered that I skated this one lakai shoe that i never saw after that again. This shoe skated fucking fantastic (maybe my memories are biased but nonetheless). It was very basic and black/white, and I think, it wasnt a pro model.

attached is a (bad) picture i cropped out of a very old picture i found on a harddrive

Looks like an RH on the tongue. I'm gonna guess some Rick Howards - maybe 5s?

thanks! but if i remember correctly, it only said "lakai" on the top of the tongue. does anybody know if there is a list of all lakai shoes out there (or something comparable)? any hypebeast or lakai nerds up in this forum?

the sole stitching and toe cap look like marianos first shoe but theres no lakai logo on the side panel. howard 5s were a little taller and had no toecap, those shoes look like they have a toecap?

very good eye! no toe cap though... actually they were pretty "clean", no tech gimmicks whatsoever

okay, so no toecap and cupsole then. i cant help but think it was lucas puigs first pro shoe but again you said they were "clean" and his shoe had the lakai logo on the side panel

......did you have access to samples? the upper on your shoe kinda looks like soca 2s but the lower is not consistent with the production run nor is the label......this is turning into quite a quandary

i appreciate your commitment very much! Yeah, I thought about that too, it might have been samples. They were very cheap and i never saw them in the "wild" again tbh. I bought them in 2008, but they might be from 2006/7. I'll try to check the harddrive again, maybe I'll find a better picture...

i think i found em, they look like the "lakoston"
it might explain why you never saw them again because that was around the time that he left for that nike money.

yeah, that might be correct, even though these look more chubby as I recall them. But nonetheless, I'll try to find a pair and I'll see. Thanks again!
