Bones or doh doh Bushings
« on: September 20, 2020, 03:45:00 PM »
Hey pal, I need to get bushings. My local skate shop is fully online right now and are carrying medium bones or doh doh bushings only. I ride thunder lows and asking you all which bushings are better, thanks pals!

They also have super soft independent bushings too if those are better

the bones, and you're gonna need to leave the stock bottom washer on so your thunder's geometry isn't thrown off

Doh-dohs crumble instantly. I’m not even joking how terrible they are. Bones medium is your safest bet out of those choices.

Just use the stock bushings, there is nothing wrong with them.

I’ve never got why everyone loves bones bushings.

I’ve tried them, and yea sure, they were fine. Not life changing for me personally though.

Enough people swear by them, so there must be something there, I guess I just didn’t find it.

Some bushings do however, most definitely suck ass or just get old and fall apart.

Pivot cups on the other hand... slightly similar story but not quite.

Same thing, everyone is like “fuck yea, riptide pivot cups!”
And in my experience they are right

Pivot cups are the biggest problem with trucks.

The stock ones for most all companies are truly, god awful.

I have never messed with aftermarket pivot cups, but to my knowledge I have never worn the stock one out? What is the difference?

Usually they are just hard, dry, shitty plastic. They get blown out, cracked or worn through really quickly.

Mainly saying this about indy stock pivot cups, to be fair. Still most stock ones suck.

The riptides urethane is much smoother and feels lubricated. Turning is just nicer.

There is a pretty noticeable difference, to me at least.

i used to be a bones bushing guy, but i think it mostly comes from the fact that older indy bushings seemed to suck worse, and also those stage 10 indy's didnt turn right and bones bushings brought them to life a little. i never had them separate from the plastic inserts either.

i stick with stock bushings though. FP insoles are the only "extras" i can stomach spending the money on anymore.

The new indy cups (Chindys) are muuuuuuch better than the old hard/crusty plastic ones; they're quality, feeling like theeve / rip cups in terms of being softer/pliable

OP, bones over dohdohs but I'd suggest stock thunders...and better cups (DLX still uses shit hard plastic for Thunder/Venture).
