Fliptricks must come around so nice with the bigger wheels on a 7.75 @coexist3

I set this ps stix 7.875, should of set this up when it was newer because shape is amazing
But the Wood is a little dead..   still really enjoying it tho.

Ace lows classic 02 with mag plates
Spitfirfire f4 50mm
Numbers Rodrigo TX 7.875 x 31.38 x 14 wb

Sorry for going over 7.75 but who else wants to see boards under 8'

Less than 8 is great
I just set up a ps stix 8, little less than 8” actually, 5.2 lo’s, 50’s. Pretty shocking switching back and forth with an 8.5” setup. The ps I have feels really great, and makes the crail board I have been enjoying, feel lackluster in comparison.

The ps stix concave is nice.   I think if you wanted to get the feel of a true 90's board
Grip a small PS stix deck and leave it laying around for a year.. than set it up .

Soggyness on par

Fair. Accurate.
Although for me, I’d say more flimsy/flexy/whippy than soggy. Imo. But they feel VERY much like the 90s. When I was young(er). And shit just worked. This is some of that shit that is probably made up in my head, buuuuuut ps ‘feels’ lighter. Some ps shapes are the best, and some are so fucking tweaked: too much taper, too many ‘fingers of flat’ resulting in ridiculous tails…a good one is better than the rest of them, for me.
I was very please with the crail 7.75 shape/wood. Really lasted

Yeah agreed, and your description sounds better than soggy

I dont like seeing this thread on page 3 either @Seventyfuhkinseven

What's the consensus on 7.75 trucks now that ace and royal are making them?

Would you guys be interested in a 7.75 venture low?

Or why fuck with a good thing 5.0's are just fine as is??

I sound like a fucking survey

I think 5.0 lo’s and hi’s are fine. They are 7.6 correct? If so I don’t believe a 1/8 would make a shits difference. If that’s what you were implying bud.

Are those really 7.75 trucks tho? 7.63 is such an interesting size, I wonder why ‘they’ chose that measurement (back in the day)?
Anyways, I’d be kinda surprised if the brains at both ace and Royal are making 7.75 trucks…I could just as easily see those be 7.63s.
But yeah, it wouldn’t matter. Keep ‘em where they are at. For authenticity

7.75 tactics, 5.2 low, 53mm stf v3. Everything feels very light and flips feel quick and effortless. I thought my ledge game would suffer with less board to land on, but now every time I lock in it's on the "sweet spot" cause the nose/tail so small the only spot u can lock in is the one good spot. I like it very much.

I know during my Venture Era (when Indy was sucking with stage 9)... 7.5 and 7.625 with Venture Lo 5.0s, were the jam. Did the best FS of my life with a Flip Arto 7.5 on V Lo 5.0s. I don't think I ever rode Ventures on a bigger board though. I did with a football shape in 92 for a little but bit not a bigger popsicle.

@nosneb where are you finding those venture stickers in nyc?
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Nah lmao I’ve been looking at this size for a long time but couldn’t find any reliable pics I wasn’t sure if it was a “mini” but found out they were normal length so that’s good

Snapped a Thunder hollow kingpin on my main setup earlier, so i've had to drag the spare setup out of the cupboard.

7.875" habitat (the one with the super blunt nose), Venture low 5.2, and 50mm Bones STF.

I forgot how fun it is to skate and easy to throw about, flips are much lower effort but you have to be more gentle and precise to avoid over spinning tricks.

Lot of fun though, should do me for a week or two while i sort a kingpin out.

In my dream last night, I had a 7.625 deck with pointy nose and tail (not this current squared trash trend!). Please lord tell me this board is real.

I feel like it was a Toy Machine devil cat. Need to see one in person to determine the pointyness or not. Unless anyone can verify

You gotta follow those skate dreams. Had one once and I rode my 9 inch board with 7.5 trucks. Tried it in real life and it's now my favourite thing. Well equal favorite with 7.75

Just set up the following board:
Javi Sarmiento Sk8mafia 7.75
Venture Bobby 5.0 high
Spitfire classic 51mm
Bones reds

Not expecting to skate like in my golden era but flip tricks to come with less effort. Also too old to take pride in board size and I hope that will work for me good.

Just got a set of 5.0 for authenticity. Kinda thinking about some 145s too just cause they have em at big Z for $20pr (also 5.0 are $20pr). I kinda want to know if they have that COVID era recessed baseplate. I don’t know.
I’ll post pics once I get some broken-in washers and bushings transferred over to the 5.0s.
I only skate prime numbers, so it's either 53s or 59s, feast or famine

So I just took the board mentioned before for a quick session and it almost felt like cheating. Probably the first time I really felt a difference from gear that’s not only in my head. Landing a sw bs flip first go at 38 is just crazy for me…

I feel this, learnt backside flips in about half an hour on my 7.875" setup today having never tried them before... and I hadn't really had the confidence to try throwing them on my usual 8.25" setup... came pretty quick, now I just need to figure out how to roll away.

I used to skate the Girl 30.75 X 7.5 Guy/Sheffey shape with the small tails. About to set a Palace 7.75 up with Venture lo’s, but may try Ace lo. I never thought twice about wb back then, but now everyone talks about it. Does the Venture wb throw off the deck’s 14” wb feeling?

I searched for "7.75's" on several online shops and I noticed alien, anti-hero, krooked, Palace, real, pop trading, darkroom and several other brands are making 7.75's again.

They were literally impossible to find a few years ago.
