I used to skate the Girl 30.75 X 7.5 Guy/Sheffey shape with the small tails. About to set a Palace 7.75 up with Venture lo’s, but may try Ace lo. I never thought twice about wb back then, but now everyone talks about it. Does the Venture wb throw off the deck’s 14” wb feeling?

I personally think Ventures and Thunders work great with a 14" wb, a 7.75-8" deck still feels plenty light and poppy enough.

I just wish they had 31.5+ lengths. Crails 7.75 and 7.875 are pretty short.

I searched for "7.75's" on several online shops and I noticed alien, anti-hero, krooked, Palace, real, pop trading, darkroom and several other brands are making 7.75's again.

They were literally impossible to find a few years ago.

id be inclined to think that the Olympics had something to do with this. little kids wanting to learn and get into skateboarding can actually learn on something suitably sized so companies are knocking the small boards out left right and centre.

tending to see a lot of little kids running 8.5 and bigger over the last few years wondering why they cant flip the board with there tiny feet (there are exceptions obviously so sending a large props and head nod to those kids.) but its a shame seeing kids give up because it doesn't work for them without realising why they are struggling so they either walk away entirely or just become transition orientated until they build the strength up in there legs or become knowledgeable enough to understand.

You have to admit we’re not seeing the crazed tech like when Puig got on adidas on dudes with huge boards. Only Tom Knox is the one dude I can think that rides an 8.5 and does quick feet shit, but he’s not flipping in and out. Tiago rides an 8 and you see how much he pops his tricks.

As someone who quit skateboarding in like 2006 then restarted in 2019 I naturally sized up a bit. Just so much more variety around in bigger sizes. Even got an 8.25 over the winter and honestly didn't hate it.  Used to only skate 7.5 and 7.63 decks back in the day.

I bought a 7.5 on Monday because my brain wouldn't shut up about trying a smaller deck again because of this damn thread.

Yeah well surprise surprise it was immediately comfortable. Everything just felt lighter and faster.  Every attempt at frontside flips went the full 180 and hit the bottom of my feet. I felt like I lost nothing in return for just a much lighter overall deck.

Looking to pull the trigger on a batch of 7.75 twin tails and would love your guys feedback. The range for a 7.75 wb seems to vary a bit, but we're looking at 14 inches. Too big, too small? Skaters we work with ride 8.25-8.5, and I personally ride an 8-8.25 as well so want to get as much feedback from the ones who skate this size

TY guys! and any other measurement preferences would be super helpful

Got you confused I think.

Tail length around 6.5 usually so 6.5  tails I guess should be fine. But better ask the pros here....

@Paul_Glider Skateboards I’ve been stewing on this for way too long but…A 7.5-7.75 width TT with 6.75 nose/tail might be incredible. 31.5ish length. Idk what that would put the wheelbase at, but if it was in the vicinity of 14” with mellow kicks and very low concave, could be amazing with Venture 5.0 los

crailtap g009 and g021 have sub 14wb
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Tried both and it depends. I notice I'm a lot more picky when I size down. For a 14" WB, if the nose/tail are too short I like 129s more. If it's more normal length, I like 5.0s. Im sure there's more to it than that but just an observation.

Hmm, I was looking at those last weekend and the text stamped on the top looked the same as other PS boards but it didn't actually say PS Stix.

I’ve got one that’s ps, but that’s about all I know. Dope brand/pro, and a good board. I’ve just been preferring to ride bigger boards

Does anyone know if this Girl board is PS? From the Woodshop thread it says that some were produced there in 2021 but otherwise made in China.
