I figured he must of shaped it out of a bigger deck..curiosity got the better of me and I had to do some digging. I want one myself.

Nice. I've been watching some older videos like EE3 and I've been lusting after that bygone era of riding a 7.75 with 56mm wheels. I was looking through Thank You Supply to pick out a Dwindle brand 8 with full concave and steep kicks that doesn't have wretched graphics (no easy feat) but I may have to grab a skinnyboi too.

I know the world has been upside down for the last 10 years... boards all 8" + *shakes in terror*. Even seems like some people on here compete to have the biggest decks. Seeing guys brag about their "8.75 decks". GrOsS. I tried to like the 8s, I really tried. I gather that the most popular size is 8.25? Tried it, hated it. Back to ye olde trusty Anti Hero green eagle 7.81". Perfection. I skated 8.12 two days ago and it felt horrible, last night got my 7.81 on and it was like a dream. It's annoying because most brands I like don't even put out a 7.75 anymore, wack! 7.5-7.88 is the best.

#make775greatagain

smaller deck FAQ:
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 165 lbs. (usually, shh, i'm working on it)
Shoe size: 8

*hypocrisy on my part: I will ride wider boards if they are egg/ football shape, but in my defense, 1992 was my favorite era and I'll put 44mm boardycakes on that. I consider those my nostalgia cruisers. AKA underground parking lot curb skating. This is if I'm watching old Plan B vids. But for regular every day skating, 7.75 is the jam

Check your wheelbase. The way I went up to bigger boards for park and transition but kept the same wheelbase, trucks, and wheels so the only difference was the width of the deck. Use to strictly only ride 7.75" decks but now comfortable on an 8" and 8.25" i even own a few 9"+ decks and redrilled to a 14" wb. Wheelbase is the key to consistent skating. I still have a 7.75" deck but just not as comfy when I skate switch so I mostly like 7.89" or 8" decks with a 14" wb.

Sorry I’m late to the party

5’8-5’10 on a good day
150lb
Shoe size 9
And I ride a 7.75

Went back to small decks some months ago cause my legs and time just isn’t what it use to be

The board is so much lighter and easier to flip, especially with 7.75 trucks

It all came to me as I experimented with an 8(my usual size for a good min) and had 7.75 trucks on it(thunder 145 hi) and man it was a hot setup, I can tre first try and pop solid ollies and kick flips like I use to

Took it down a notch if that’s correct and got my 7.8 alien workshop and never looked back to ever going past an 8

Currently my hot setup is toy machine 7.88 I think it said with a pretty accurate feeling 14” wheelbase and 31.6 length I think with some thunder lights 145 hi

The curiosity that really sparked it all was remembering how fun it was riding my zip zinger with those Indy 109 and how easy it was to turn and pop my tricks on such a small board, it was fun

I still skate the same things I’ve always skated just on a smaller scale now

I’ll throw my self off a small set of stairs or gap, try a ledge, manual a pad and some of the classic street stuff but just not as daring and nimble like the days when fully flared was being hyped up, battle at the berrics just became a thing and blew our minds waiting every week to see our favorite pros battle it out to see who’s a better skater based off a flat ground game of horse, deck technology was all the rage, bones Stf were the old f4, adio c1rca and Supra were still alive, almost round 3 was the best skate video, everyone had a signature trick

Anyways it’s full circle, started skating with a 7.8 back to a 7.8 and I’m not turning back to anything bigger than an 8, too tired and getting old

If you look back earlier in this thread you can see that last year I was on 7.5-7.75 for a couple months straight, just to test the waters. After a while though I started missing having landing room on my board so I switched back to 8.5s again.
Just recently I was at the park and my friend had an 8 that I decided to mess around on and everything was just working on it. Kickflips and everything just felt right. Might experiment with 8s for a lil bit with my next setup. Anyone got any suggestions for a nice 8 that’s around 31.8-32 long with a 14-14.25 wb?

PM me offers or whatever, may just toss on eBay

Are you going up in size or just didn't like the specs? Or was it because it's a Baker and you just couldn't live with that any longer?!?   ;D

I decided that I will try this out with my son's (Let's be real, I paid, they're mine) Venture 5.0 Lows. I think its going to rain this weekend, so not sure when

If I remember correct, you haven't  skated Ventures a ton..I have a feeling that you will really like them once you give them a session or two to get used to. Idk what it is but venture los make even the basics really fun.

@Noble Experiment 31.5" might be too short for you but I really dig Habitat boards 8.0" with 14" wb.
There's also some 8.0"s with a 14.125" wb and  31.75" long

Skinny board plus ventures is great. honestly I think low trucks look the best. Plus always takes me back to Girl Mouse Era. I was going to set it up today but it's 95 degrees so I'm unmotivated. I feel natural riding on Indys but tricks feel better on ventures or thunders to me. I noticed that I do a rear arm swoop when landing tricks on indys , starting with stage 9. Next level ocd

Just kidding I knew it wasn't you  :-[ I have been skating Indys for the last week, I wonder if I am doing rear arm swoops!?! I will report back maybe it's widespread issue.

Bought the deck from skatewarehouse on sale a few years back.

I shaped it myself based on a 90s girl deck

Damnnn I think 7 1/4 is worthy of an entire different thread! Tbh if I weighed the same as I did in the 90's I would be all over sanding/cutting them down again!
