I met Huf in 1995 or 96, when the REAL team came to my town for a demo.
I remember buying a board from him; everyone was skating toothpick 7.5s at the time, and the deck he sold me, the same model he was skating, seemed absolutely huge, but was probably an 8.25 (at most). I couldn't believe how much better I skated and how much more fun I had on that deck, it was a revelation. I could pop-and-catch kickflips seemingly effortlessly.
Anyway, even though I only spoke to him for a few minutes, I can still remember being impressed with how cool he was. Seemed mature beyond his years (he must have been 22 or so at the time).
Rest in power to a true legend.
