Florent Mirtain: Quiet, Underrated and Mesmerizing
« on: October 02, 2020, 08:00:55 AM »
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFU9PA_4aiA

I am curious to find out what others thought of his skating.

Mirtain's part in Bon Voyage is one of my personal favorite.
I must admit, I had tears welling up countless times especially towards the end.

But as good as this part may be this was something you can't deny:
the videographer did just as an amazing work as Mirtain did.

The most captivating of all clips was the Switch FS Heel over the handrail (in France, I presume).

Objectively speaking though, I can understand why some won't value this video part as much.
But the work of Mirtain, Boris Proust and Lee Fields' vocal cords put together was for a lack of a better term "oragasmic".

To all that are interested: I am happy to argue/debate on any critiques on this masterpiece.

Is there any money in skateboarding film anymore?

Geneva, Switzerland.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire but he came to my local park for a comp with the Cliché team 5 years ago and while Daclin, JB and the rest of the team were really nice, he cool-guyed everybody apart from his team mates during the whole weekend. Pretty lame.

Video was underrated as fuck. Fav part was Sammy Winter and I actually liked Daniel Espinoza's part. It does suck it went under since it was a legit brand and decided to let the stale fart known as Blind linger around instead

Cliche and Enjoi were the only interesting parts of Dwindle when it folded.

I might need to revisit Bon Voyage at some point, because I remember being disappointed by it.

Did any of you guys ever notice that if you took off the end "er" from his name, moved the "b" to after the "i" and then added an "l" to the "b" that you just moved, you'd spell "Bible"?

I bought Bon Voyage and the last Gypsy Tour video in a skateshop in Cardiff. I was sleeping in a van with my then girlfriend, soon to be massive hoe ex-girlfriend so I have trouble watching the video cus of that. Still Flo seems like a douche but a damn talented skaters

Bon Voyage and the last Gypsy Tour video

These are the worst cliché videos anyway. So 2012-2013 trying to go tech with drones and fake vignetting...
I really like Flo's cliché clé part, and the more recent "home alone" posted above

Why?

In Greek mythology, Sisyphus or Sisyphos (/ˈsɪsɪfəs/; Ancient Greek: Σίσυφος Sísyphos) was the king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth). He was punished for his self-aggrandizing craftiness and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity.

Ok, I'm an idiot, but you can't blame me. Their names are very similar and around 2013 was when I stopped skateboarding and consuming the media.

I think everyone was disappointed Mirtain wasn't Marfaing.

Flo Mirtain is alway sick. I liked his shit in Cle and the iphone edit is so sick.

I used to think that the Flo Marfiang + Alex Carolino duo was like the Euro(+brazilian) analog to Stevie+Kalis or Henry+Marcus.

So, I've watched this once but never could find it again...It's a raw edit of a lof of the same guys in TDGAFAU from the same era. It was on Vimeo and I saw it ~New Years Day hungover as shit in 2013 or 14. Help me find it.

always liked his skating, but im the idito who claimed on multiple occasions on slap that he did a fakie 5-0/ sw fs crooks 360 flip out (but turned out i was too stupid to check it was only a varial flip). thus, he should come up with this shit better sooner than later.
