Alyssa Milano (copies from a different thread with a part 2, as if anybody really cares)
She filmed her skinamax vampire movie in town I grew up in. Her brother later went to the school and played hockey. She was at a game of his I refereed.
Astonishingly tiny irl. Came out of the ref locker room that was near the players lounge and boom, there she was. Very small. She was kind of by herself and with a wide berth but surrounded by people staring at her. We walked out, she turned and looked, I looked at her, started walking away then realized who it was and just kept walking. Fuck am I going to say, it’s weird your brother decided to take up hockey and do it at what was fast becoming an nationally known ultra-elite high school hockey program.
So maybe 15 years later, if you remember the tv shown about ice road truckers, there was a fairly attractive short woman who was featured fairly prominently.
Anyway, the fame clock was somewhere around the 13:30 mark and she was in town to promote something somewhere. I had to run to town for something and stopped for a cheap banana or doughnut and walked past a throng of people staring at this short woman who was buying something. Nobody was talking but easily a dozen people were staring at here like she had finished peeing in the floor in the check out line. Anyways, I bought my whatever and stood next to her and glanced over and she looked familiar like she was someone’s mother or a customer or something. Maybe a doctors wife who did charity. She said good morning. I replied the same and then I left and got back to work and heard it on promo for her event on the radio and made the connection. Again, what would I have said anyway? “What’s your favorite gear shift pattern?”
Another dumb one. Skating flat ground outside first ave in Minneapolis in 1995? 96? Before a Rancid show. Some dudes come from around the back of the club(on the first avenue side) and they kind of say what’s up, gave the homie some props of some flip trick and asked if we were going to the show or needed tickets. We all had tickets and they quickly headed off to get some foods. Whatever. They opened the doors, we went back to the parking garage to dump boards and and puff and went back in.
The guy who asked if we needed tickets was Lars.
