My dad's cousin was a set teacher. She brought us to hang out on the set of Hook. Got to see the halfpipe and the full scale ship they built, astonishing. At one point Robin Williams led his lost boys, all in costume, on a stampede around the Lot causing general havoc.
Bangarang.
We met Doogie Howser and got signed headshots which I later regretted losing. He's multitalented but it's his reputation as a magician that most impresses me.
My brother's friend's dad's brother is Joe Flaherty. The weird part was randomly picking him up in my cab but that was before I knew the connection. I picked up Matt Pinfield at LAX, just a friendly guy - good atitude.
Also had Jimmie "dyn-O-mite!" Walker - cracking jokes the entire way to his pad.
This was all of 05 and 06 so the details aren't fresh but my most memorable passenger was Dill. Picked him up on a corner in Mar Vista heading to a bar in silverlake. It was a quiet ride and I don't initiate conversations but when we arrived I offered him half off, "you're Jason Dill, right? I'm not tryna blow up your celebrity, I used to skate a lot. Courthouse, HotRod etc." He was so friendly about it though. "Nahh man, we're all skaters, no big deal" something like that, all smiles.
