omg canvas vulcanized shoes
at least they put a bit of thought into them regarding the backing/ design and also their insoles. I mean they are probably better designed from a function perspective than say LRAB even if their aesthetics aren’t exactly ground breaking

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

Wowww. This thread was music to my eyes. I’d never heard of this brand but they look incredible. I’m a big cons guy that mostly skates ctas but obvs go through them very fast. I ordered the high tops in these to give them a try.

It’s a legitimate take and I see your point. But I actually like them because they’re so generic looking. I’m stoked at the potential for a much longer lived bland, nondescript shoe than the ones I currently buy and wear out on repeat.

Shoes are not the type of shoes that I skate, but plenty of dudes do.

I will say that the skate rat logo is horrible!

They look like padded chucks, like how the cts was. I loved the cts so I see the appeal

I don’t wear vulcs so I can’t answer that portion but it seems like this brand made some (much needed) improvements on some classic silhouettes and people are digging them, the fact they sponsor Gou is probably a mild factor too? Being a Japanese brand I would also bet that the quality is better than LRAB

I can see that, I did prefer the older chuck design

I forgot the dudes name but he used to ride for consolidated who is one of the founders or original riders for this shoe brand. BA.KU. has some ties as well. Either way, yeah they aren't making anything new but I mean, look at their slip on compared to vans, they look like you can actually fit your foot into theirs. I'd def wear these if they had any US distro. Little too far to be ordering all the way from Tokyo and I wonder if they'd arrive sitting at the post office waiting for me to pay customs fees or something like that.

After 20 days from Japan to Missouri there here.

Generous with the stickers

Heel tab

Gum grip

Removable insoles has nice squish but nothing special

LRAB 003 canvas comparison

Mini rubber toe cap gave me Vietnam flashbacks

Fit is true to size, also comes with extra white laces all around for $70 free international ship I'm happy with what I got.

What an odd little shoe. The look reminds me of something that IKEA would use as a display for a shoe storage system they're selling. If I had a dollar for every time I've accidently taken home a IKEA display model, I'd have exactly four dollars. Clearly it's a Vans/Converse hybrid, I'd have to try it on to make a real decision for myself. At least out of the box they have removable insoles, LR didn't do it for several releases and even touted it as a feature. I like the look, even if it's pretty basic. Poked around on their website and saw a pretty interesting model called the Boneless One, looks like if the Vans Era and Vans Chukka had a lovechild. Probably will order soon.
