Trying my hardest not to be disrespectful, but can anybody link some decent footage from her?
My first impressions are pretty gimmicky and I'd like to understand what people are raving about.
I love Evan Smith footage, but I'm definitely one of those people who get turned off by the "super duper fun skateboarding" type footage that I've seen of Maite. Feel like I'm watching grom handycam footage tbh.

It's subjective, if you've already seen her skate and didn't like it then you're probably not going to find what you consider to be "decent" footage. She doesn't have a super deep bag of tricks, so if you're looking for a bunch of flip tricks or her hucking down big sets and gaps you won't really find that. She skates fast, has good style, skates some interesting spots, and has fun. That's her appeal. She definitely fits into what I'd consider to be the modern european style that's not really focused on technical ability so much as finding new and interesting spots and ways to skate them. To many people, that's "decent" enough.

I'm digging the art work so far. This might be my favorite new skater owned board company that no one asked for.

need top views/dimensions on the 8.9" and 8.7" - like they are doing some different stuff with sizes and shapes.

For sure considering copping that Maité/Nate Russell 8.7” shaper, but will need to see a wheelbase number &  pic of the shape from the top before pulling the trigger.
Can anybody steer me towards either/both of these missing data points so I can have yet another slab of maple crowding me out of my closet space.

Wow those graphics are really great. I just saw the “taped” series when they launched and thought they were horrid but everything else is beautiful. Totally changed my perception.

I’m a thumbs down on the art direction.  Looks like it’s trying to hard to be profound, maybe?  Idk, can’t really put my finger on what make me so uneasy about it.

i agree, although i mostly dislike the graphics since they look too clustered and unclean, the 2 middle boards look solid
Nah i skate big boards cause i got big ass feet and a big ass dick

Maybe unpopular opinion and bias towards ES, but I actually like all of their graphics for the most part.  I think the busy ones have the right amount of busy, while the simple ones are the right amount of simplicity.

In a weird way, I think UMA already found their "image" so if you're in a shop you can probably tell which one is an UMA, in the way you can recognize a Polar or Baker on the wall.

I'm tempted to get my hands on an 8.5 or 8.6 once I work through my board stack

Just retired the cold Chapman tape Uma. Great board. Lasted way longer than expected still felt great. I basically finally chilled it and decided I should skate a fresh deck. But I’ll definitely keep this one in my trunk as a back up. I’m a fan. Wish their wheelbases was a little different but whatever.

I found the taped series to be the most original, the recent drop reminds me of a discount Magenta. They’re still nice and in person the finishing looks great.

I'm riding the Uma wingwing right now. it's super snappy and i like the shape. feels real sturdy. would recommend. imo the aesthetic is cool. monsters, skulls, blood, and guts don't do much for me. the graphic caught my eye because it was different. glad ES started this. it will be interesting to see what becomes of the brand and who joins the team. it's got mad potential.

I hope they add Cookie, Kevin Braun and Gillette. Would be amazing to see a video with people of all varying skill like that.

I just got the blue dipped board. Never been a fan of dipped boards but this one feels good. The board has the little dot on the nose where it shows to overall dimensions so I'm assuming that it's BBS. The wheelbase stamp is also wrong on my board. Will probably get another one in the future.

Was it the 8.5? I want the 8.5  but I prefer 14.25 wheelbase so I'm getting the 8.25 assuming it's really 14.25 as it says on somewhere I looked on internets

I bought the 8.7 shaped deck. It’s an 8.7 at it’s widest in the middle but tapers to an 8.4 and has a 14.25 wheelbase. Surprisingly nimble deck. Bought it to try and learn to skate curbs but had a pretty fun hip sesh on it when I got frustrated on the curb lol.

Currently on the 8.9 squared off shape. Classic Ace 44s are too narrow and 55s too wide... Nose is too long. One of those boards that looked good on paper but disappointed me once under my feet. In saying that it has been super durable and I can''t stop riding it. It is still really stiff and poppy, even as it is nearly done due to razor tail.

Debating between getting an Uma 8.25 or get a AWS big boy for funsies. Been getting use to 8.25s with similar dims so might just go for the UMA. Maybe both! Just need to start getting paid again.

Also, I really like the way Maité skates. She just seems like a rad person in general

This is super good intel as I wanted one of the 8.9s but passed. Glad I did.

They should call it Pumaverse and have graphics with a puma wearing a space suit and Puma sneakers.

I wonder who brought the cease and desist. Uma Thurman? She starred in the films Mad DOG And Glory, The Truth About Cats And DOGS… as well as Kill Bill. She could not afford the association with eaters of dog shit and decided to have her PR team step in.

There's not enough info here! Who is sending out a C&D to Evan and his deck company? I can't find any other brand/entity/etc. from a short Google search that shares the same name: "UMA Landsleds," so what gives? Is it an agent of Uma Thurman?

Has anyone found out anymore info yet? Or DMed Evan like a man?

.

I am guessing it was Landsleds, which is a footwear brand, but I could be wrong.

Seems there are not a lot of other options in searches, but if it was Uma, they wouldn't have been able to use Uma in the name again, now Umaverse, if that is what it is.

Did they ever do a tribute to Uma Thurman on any board or graphic?

Here is a poor version (funnily enough) of someone wearing their thongs doing a very sketchy rock to fakie at one of the Aussie skateparks.

Well, Landsleds has done UMA Landsleds a favour - that was a terrible name, doesn't make any sense and was one of the reasons that UMA Landsleds struggled to sell (and probably Landsleds isn't flying off the shelf either considering no one has heard of it). However, Umaverse is almost as bad. Should just completely change it up and start a fresh, like mother/quasi.

Agreed they should change it completely but I get why they’re keeping the Uma . It’s too many seasons in to change it completely and lose any brand recognition they might have obtained. Mother got cease and Desisted pretty much immediately so it was a simple fix, umas been around for what like 3-4 years now?

Yeah but nobody cares about Uma. Doesn't matter which language you speak it sounds dumb.
A name change would really help the brand imo.
