My first semester of community college I made friends with some good dudes in video production. We all wanted to work in film and they found some local production that needed some help. We go about an hour into the mountains to help these people shoot some piece of shit independent project called "Poet Solider", it was really regular and I remember us all being let down.
Before the day was up we swung by the girl's house where she lived with her parents, we are already shooting up in the woods. It's like a cabin but they have this sick ass art studio in back and shit, and then as I'm sitting around I notice L Ron Hubbard, Dianetics, Scientology books and merch EVERYWHERE. This was literally like a month or 2 before 4chan started going after Scientology so not everyone knew what it was. But we live next to one of their main spots and I knew about it all my life. I make an excuse to step outside and go for a walk realizing these people are fucking freaks. Right before or at the same time I noticed the books I saw the girls pant leg slide up an inch and she had full on unshaved coyote legs, she was like 22! As I'm walking around on the street almost night, I see a huge fresh footprint in the snow I am in. It was a bear or a mountain lion because it was in no way a fucking dog, it was massive and stopped me just because of the sheer size. I ran back to the Scientology cabin in fear of getting brain washed, I told one of my buddies these people are scientologist and he asked me what that meant, I was like they are in a fucking cult dude, these people are crazy. I remember a scene required two people to be talking and drinking beers, me and my buddies were gonna each drink a beer because they were just going to empty it in the sink, when we asked to drink them, everyone laughed and thought we were telling a joke. Mother fuckers didn't even pay us, couldn't even give us a beer. They wanted more help and I told those 2 to fuck off and go without me the next day. I went to hang out with my buddies and get some quick experience but it was a real lesson.
