April Skateboards "Replay"
« on: October 30, 2020, 01:25:55 PM »

Good skateboarding, bad music imo. 60's/70's R&B > 80's/90's and not even going to speak on the mumble rap. Yet to hear a song i like in an April edit but then again April is not meant for me.

Great skating, filming,  and no complaint outfits.

Ronnie Kessner's skating looks really good. And yes, that second song was unbearable.

Don't know why they didn't put in the mirrored line Yuto did at that curb spot. I guess since it was already on Insta, but thought this looked cool:

i liked their intro edit and i think the 4:3 HD works well, but agreed on the music. didn't cut it for me this time.

I watched this after that Franky Villani part. It's weird that even though both videos had talented skateboarding, Frankys part made me wanna go skate and this one had me waiting for it to end so some dude can tell me to like & subscribe to their YouTube channel and if I click the link below I can get 10% off for some shit from their affiliate.

Since this looks heavily conscripted by Nike I’m just having this thought.
Could sb be Nike’s most profitable line?  I would bet their marketing budget (throwing money to April, primitive, etc) is less than any single of the big name pro basketball players.  And no kid is tearing up basketball shoes at the clip a skateboarder is.  Just wondering

Noah Nayef.

I feel like a lot of this clip is throwaway/leftover, I know a couple of these guys are working on separate full parts.

bs 360 and ender were dope
hd 4:3 done right too
however the entire brand still feels so vanilla, probably because of shane oneill, and also the og logo board looks exactly like a dove soap bar to me

HD 4:3 is the way to go. Yuto is the most complete skateboarder right now IMO.

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

Really? There is nothing remotely interesting in the way he edits or films.

18 months in and I still think this company is unsure of their own image. Is Nate Jackson off already?

No Diego?

No sight of Diego in the last 2 April vids, and the last one was a skatepark edit.

That Noah guy is quite good.

Far from relevant

I was disappointed that there was no Diego clips. Hope he's not one of those people afraid to leave the house cause of covid. Last clip he posted was 3 months ago skating with gloves and a mask on..

I doubt any sb stuff is outselling any of the Air Max variations.

Oh yeah, I forgot about running. They go fast but certainly not faster than a skate shoe seeing daily use.   And those shoes have a lot more tech and a lot of advertising.
Just thinking that for the cost of some shoes and peanuts(comparatively.  A dirtbag skateboarder has far less market demand than Olympic/nba/nfl athlete.)  But it’s all relative.  The cost of taking the entire 917 team on a trip to film an edit is nothing compared to the even the free shit they send to colleges across the country in the form of “player exclusives.”
I don’t know.  That’s what I got to thinking during this video because it’s just kind of boring.  The title for me is actually April skateboards presents (a video that I will never) replay (since I couldn’t wait for it to end before I closed the window.)
