Since this looks heavily conscripted by Nike I’m just having this thought.
Could sb be Nike’s most profitable line?  I would bet their marketing budget (throwing money to April, primitive, etc) is less than any single of the big name pro basketball players.  And no kid is tearing up basketball shoes at the clip a skateboarder is.  Just wondering
[close]

I doubt any sb stuff is outselling any of the Air Max variations.

Oh yeah, I forgot about running. They go fast but certainly not faster than a skate shoe seeing daily use.   And those shoes have a lot more tech and a lot of advertising.
Just thinking that for the cost of some shoes and peanuts(comparatively.  A dirtbag skateboarder has far less market demand than Olympic/nba/nfl athlete.)  But it’s all relative.  The cost of taking the entire 917 team on a trip to film an edit is nothing compared to the even the free shit they send to colleges across the country in the form of “player exclusives.”
I don’t know.  That’s what I got to thinking during this video because it’s just kind of boring.  The title for me is actually April skateboards presents (a video that I will never) replay (since I couldn’t wait for it to end before I closed the window.)
Nike recently came out with the next% carbon fiber running shoes. They retail for around $260 and supposedly are only really good for about 200 or 300 miles. For reference a serious marathon runner will average 70-105 miles a week.  Granted these are racing shoes but I'd be surprised if the SB line was the most profitable.

April skateboarding is pure skateboarding with a touch of finesse. I like it a lot.

Shane with a skatepark line for his first tricks...
The whole team is forgettable at best. They are all very talented just so bland.
Someone mentioned how villani doesn’t fit on primitive, i disagree. He gives that team the flavor it needed to stand out.

I wonder if any of y'all ever considered that the skate parts that you enjoy are boring and bland to other people.
Anyways, Ish Cepeda and Kai Kishi look so good on a skateboard.

Woah the sky looked so fuckin cool during Ish Cepeda’s line starting around 1:25. Very distracting, but beautiful.

That first song choice was perfect. I feel like I'm seeing more and more fucked up gap to curb grinds&slides over street gaps lately.

Janet is great but the song felt out of place to me. Something about really clean footage and that specific song doesn’t mesh.

i think there's a level of skill where aesthetics just stop mattering, and shane is on it

I don’t need a board company to necessarily have an “image” as that can limit their shelf life.  I just want a cool name and a cool logo.  April doesn’t do either for me, but I still wish it was Future Skateboards to pair with Primtive.   That face in the A logo just makes me think of the Girl Scouts logo.

Their team is sooo good. Not much of an image, but the skating speaks for itself.

That ender was absolutely incredible. Can't believe someone did that...

The fakie heel, curb to gap, bs 3, and front blunt were sick.

No Diego?

I felt that April was a Primitive analog for people who don't talk much for some reason, like "lofi hip hop beats to relax/study to" but more in line with smooth R&B or uhh whatever mildly shoegazy stuff Shane likes.

Where is 4:26?

Autotune rap is fucking horrendous. I thought we knew that already?

I'll mainline any and all Yuto footage.

Solid on mute. If the rumor about numbers brand is true, I think they could use one of those big names on April.

Anyone else find April boring as hell? I like Yuto, I like Ronnie, and Kai Kishi is dope. Ish is alright. But overall the company just bores me to death. Graphics are lame, and that clothing drop was so middle of the road boring.

Really dug the first song, then they go and put that horrible second track in...
No Diego
Ender was great...rest pretty bland by today's standards?

Autotune rap is fucking horrendous. I thought we knew that already?

I'll mainline any and all Yuto footage.

What I don't get is that it doesn't fit the brand or the talent, at all...like that group who like mumbleshitrap would care about this brand...

Yawn.

No names, no brand or video aesthetic, boring California spots, bad music. Good tricks, but that ain't doin it for me.
The '80s were the worst period. You had these horrible pop bands growing their hair and calling themselves metal.

Their image is Shane's personality summed up in a nutshell.
