dump your vids
« on: October 31, 2020, 11:01:07 AM »
thought with a dedicated film board, we could use a thread you can post your vids in, obviously some of you get your stuff posted on photos/video, but between us filmers i thought it'd be nice to give each other some feedback or whatever.

here's some stuff i dropped the last year.

lol you know my boys, Rabbit and Zach. When did y’all film this? Cuz some of those spots have been long gone and the skyline looks different.

it must be crazy when chico sells you something and the tables switch from "give me my money chico" to "giving my money to chico"

In reverse chronological order, the last video I made (2019):

(4x3 HD on GH5/AC90)

The one before that (2018):

(Normal HD mostly HPX/Xtreme)

Before that (2017):

(also mostly HPX/Xtreme)

And before that (2015):

(VX1000/MK1)

Bit of a break in between that one and the one before (2011):

(VX1000/MK1)

And then before that one (2010):

(Bit of a mix but mainly VX1000/MK1 and DVX100)

And the first one, not in full, but as a playlist which may not work (2009):

(Mostly DVC30/MK1)

There are some more that I either filmed most of and didn't edit, or that I edited but didn't film all of. Those are all videos that I (mostly) filmed and edited.

I only watched Best Before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Good tunes, no bullshit, fisheye is close but not too close, long lens is tight but not too tight, titles are just right. also Tom Robinson is tight and the mini-cone relay manny was sick.

Now that I can do it I want to upscale that stuff to HD sometime:

Northern Co. Paris trip from a few years back.

A documentary on the Vladimir Film Festival in Croatia, although George Toland and Rémi Luciani filmed most of the skating. Starts out slow on purpose with the main interviewee struggling with his introduction and then picks up.

The first two full length videos I made are not online. "Video", from 2001 was VHS. Sold a bunch across Canada. The second one, "The Burning Whale Project", was for Homegrown Skateboards in 2005. It was DVD.

Here's a few of the longer edits I have up online...

The G9 Summit, made using a Canon G9 Powershot with the MK1 adapted to fit on it. Fun homie video vibes, nothing serious. Got a few heads in it though.

Here's the last installment of the first volume of my throwback series, Stuck In The Past. This episode has footage of Wenning from when we met him randomly in SF in 1998.

This one is my part from my friend's video, Soft Spot, from 2017.

This one is an edit I made from a 5 week trip to San Diego/LA in 2018. I was really happy to get so much footage in such a short time after a pretty bunk Barcelona trip earlier in the year.

Here's Haslam's installment from the second volume of my throwback series, Stuck In The Past 2000. This footage originally got used for his parts in Skate Canada, my first video, and Deca 2nd 2 None.

This is a part I made for one of my go-to skate homies in San Diego, Matt Day. Solid friend. I've seen an old clip of Matt doing the Pat Duffy rail from Questionable. Random factoid.

And here's the teaser for the sequel to The G9 Summit - G9 2020. Enjoy!

My first cam (an 8mm Canon camera) and getting into editing skate parts together.

My first VX21, was a random edit I put together from a day's bit of footy at this cool DIY spot.

First proper part I worked on with my mate for a now defunct board company. This is where I learned to film properly.
(Still a lot of orange in it as I was picking up the settings in that

Welcome part for my mate Billy Trick.

Wet British winters mean being stuck in car parks...

Basically all what was left all of my VX21 footy before I went with a VX1. It was for an art show run by my matey.

Barca edit with Welsh Tommy and Sam Austin from 2018.

GSD 2018 in Swansea.

Working on a full length at the moment, so nothing really new with the VX1 other than a few lil edits on my channel.
i don’t think any of you are real, i think slap was invented by my mom to make me think people want to talk to me

Just made my first edit in a couple of months. The filming is a bit hit and miss in my opinion but I liked how it turned out. Thought I'd do something a bit different with the soundtrack as well

This montage is still unlisted on YouTube, but would love to hear what y'all think. It's about 18 minutes. VX1000.

Is there any money in skateboarding film anymore?
