Art Gallery/Museum grab.

Bored on nightshift, question for the night...
You're allowed to take and keep only one thing from any museum/art gallery to keep in your house...

What you taking?

Went to an exhibition of artifacts unearthed from Pompei. They had a large and very graphic sculpture of some guy fucking a goat. Would be quite the conversation piece....

Contrary to my avatar (although a Mondrian Composition No III, with Red, Blue, Yellow and Black might be my second choice) I would take Rembrandt's Slaughtered Ox from the Louvre. It's my favorite painting I've ever seen by one of my favorite artists of all time. It's grotesque and looks wet and when I saw it at the Louvre it's in a little side hall off the big hall to get to Mona Lisa and I just stood there staring at it and the mobs of people faded away behind me.

Maybe:

Always had a soft spot for Asger Jorn's Disquieting Duckling. I remember winning a Beautiful Losers and Elwood package from Kingpin over a decade ago for submitting an essay about it, the stuff came in a wooden cigar box.

If we are going with a piece of traditional art...

...this was pretty impressive to see in person, however, I'm not sure I could look at it everyday

The story of the scene itself is interesting (Ivan the Terrible cradling his dead son after he killed him) and the painting itself is controversial since it upsets conservatives who want to lick the monarchy's balls. It has been attacked twice: once in 1913 and once in 2018 (I think I saw in it 2013).

I don't even really like camping but this would be such a weird piece to have in your home. It would be great in a dentist's office too. Or just anywhere I suppose. Annette Messager is my favorite artist maybe.

I used to hate Renaissance paintings as a kid but now that I am older, I appreciate it a lot more just cause of the level of skill that was put in and at large scales to boot. It would be cool to get anything like that on a wall but put it in a home that is all modern so it contrast in style.

I'd take an F22 from the Air Force museum and watch out for all my little shalomies so they could skate whatever spot they wanted and not get hassled.

But if I thought about it too long and the price of jet fuel/time to train, I would make take Archie Bunkers chair so I could at least chill.

In Kamor (Kamor 1986) a gunpowder explosion at the summit of a small mountain in the Swiss canton of Appenzell produces a burst of flame and a plume of smoke and momentarily lends the summit the appearance of a live volcano.

I worked at the San Diego Museum of Art for a couple of years and they had an Arnold Newman photo exhibit, which was incredible. I'd snag this bad boy:
