Jason Lee is probably on the uptown side of the scale, depending on how much the church of ___________ology took.

The Frost man probably did ok too.  Even after the untimely demise of his Numbers career.

When the chief slept at EMB he probably was on the poorer side.

Surprised no one has mentioned Bryan Herman.

Also, Jeron Wilson I believe has co-owned Diamond for a very long time, he's probably earned his fair share off of that.

I remember that Tum Yeto, Foundation and Toy Machine coming through Copenhagen having a demo at the old fælledparken in 96 just after the release of welcome to hell and a year after rolling thunder ( a very slept on video in my opinion). They skated really good but man they where poor. The old Josh Beagle walked around collecting cans to make extra income at the skatepark.  In Denmark there is nothing controversial about drinking beer og smoking weed at the skatepark and every one was partying but he was just collecting all the crowds empty beer bottles in a big black bag. In Denmark you get what's like 15 cent per bottle so he probably did make 50-60 dollars on some hours of constantly picking peoples bottles up. It was pretty weird to see that and a bit sad.

On another note I got to see Brian Anderson for the first time which was a great experience. He skated so good in real life.

Sadly, and it certainly isn't from riding a skateboard, but Rob Dyrdek might be the richest. It might be Hawk for the video game royalties and all the bigger sponsorships, but apparently Mtv has accumulatively paid Dyrdek more than any other person. I didn't realize how omnipresent he was until I read this article (from a SLAP link I think): https://www.theringer.com/tv/2020/9/15/21436802/mtv-ridiculousness-rob-dyrdek-reinvention

For richest from actual skateboard riding, it's Hawk and Stephan.

Props to Janoski for all of his multi-millions from basically just insisting on a simple shoe from Nike back in the day. I like that he was referred to as "Air Pippen". Not even the most accomplished skater on his team (Nike or Habitat) but the obvious winner in the skate shoe game. To think that pros like Ishod are breaking themselves to get a color way of Janoski's shoe, and Tony Hawk, while there is still technically a namesake shoe brand out there for him, is still drifting from shoe sponsor to shoe sponsor over the past decade.

Dill must be getting pretty rich here nowadays too, I imagine.

For poorest, it's a toss-up between hundreds of people. A great swath of sponsored skaters are near (or actually) having a net-worth below zero. I'm sure not anymore, but not too long ago Gonz was deep in debt to the IRS.

Fred Gall, now sober and not presently mooching for IRS payments, with home ownership, full time employment outside of skateboarding, and co-owning a clothing company that probably breaks even, is doing ok. Probably better than most pros.
Warm Up Zone. Let's watch some skateboarding videos.

If we add a third category of most content pros, I think two of Slap's favs, Jeremy Klein and Bob Puleo would be at the top of the list.  Not sure how much $$$ they have, but each of those dudes is living their dream life and has been for some time.

I guess Street League / Olympic competitors would be on the upper echelon financially speaking.

Who has “fuck you” money?
If they have been wise financially, should be Rocco, Mullen, the birdman, nyjah, sheckler, spike jones, dyrdek.  That’s probably about it.
Founders of supreme maybe. Maybe janoski.
Bam should, but depends on how his money was handled.
[close]

Janoski sold the royalty rights to Nike early on in the game. I'm sure it was for a handfull of millions and he still gets other back-scratch from Nike but don't assume because his shoes have been killing for years that his wealth has been growing with it.
[close]

No, that was never true. Janoksi has denied it in multiple interviews.

weird, I seem to recall he said it in a recent ish nine club episode? Will have to dig to find it.

Richest- does the random girl you are trying to bone know who they are?

Poorest- do you look at the skater and become glad you weren’t good enough to pursue a pro career?

I've always been curious as to what a pro on a corporate brand makes. And not like prod stefan nyjah or businetz. I know there are tiers but say AA or Dan Lu who gets a color way/shoe, are they making good money? Or someone like Aaron Harrington with Cons or AO/Blobby with nike? Economics of skateboarding is such a mystery.

The best part was when he storied his blueprints and there was a “hidden room” confirmed sex dungeon.

How much did Pierre make with SoleTech? He's got to be up there in terms of net worth.

Stefan is the first guy that comes to mind out of people who weren't listed.

Since I haven't seen him mentioned. Vinny Ponte was pro, and is insanely wealthy. His family owned an insane amount of valuable Manhatten real estate along with other interests (such as the restaurant and his grandfather carting business).

LA Rent varies, but is always too much.
These are for legit places but also not the super rich because there is no upper limit in LA, I'm not including living in fucked areas..
Studios: $900-1300/month...      $2500 for DTLA
1-bedrooms: $1500-2500....$3000+ DTLA
2-bed: smaller $1800-up Nicer $2500-up
A decent Penthouse in a highrise DTLA is like 9k/month

I think Fred Gall is pretty upfront about having a 9-5 job, and I understand that he inherited his house in a Philly suburb, so I think he's probably a basic working stiff who can pay his bills and put a little aside every month. So yeah, actually doing better than most pro skaters
This is not my SOTY. I'm telling my kids there was no SOTY for 2021
