When it comes to filming, your equipment is gonna break. It's just the way it goes. Repairing cameras especially older ones like the VX's is difficult for beginners. So you might be tempted to go on to Instagram and hire one of the camera repairmen on their. Now a lot online tend to have good reviews and overall a professional work ethic. However there are some who attempt to scam and sometimes steal from filmers. This post is inspired by Pedro's post about reliable repairmen. This shall hopefully be a place where you can name and shame any repairmen who have scammed you in the past. This also includes people who sell equipment, or people buying equipment. I'll start:
VX1000Market:
Known to not fix cameras and sometimes send them back in worse condition. Will often times ghost the camera owner for months on end.
VX_Mechanic_Canada: Was supposedly selling an MK1 online, when someone went through a bought the lens he took the money and ran. His account has been deleted however his name is Jake Carter so if you see anyone pop up selling cameras/lenses or repairing under that name in Canada, beware.
That's all I can think at the moment but feel free to add on anyone with some context as to why people should be careful.
