Best part this year and it’s not even close. Using the word masterpiece to describe skating seems weird but in this case it warrants it

I feel all warm and fuzzy after watching this. There is a lot to say about this part but I am not going to spoil the feeling with detail analysis. I’ll have to let this sink in.

I shouted "no fucking way!" a lot in between laughing hysterically while watching this.

I don't even think SOTY is enough for this level of skating. It sounds like hyperbole to say.

But when Tony Hawk Pro Skater entered and technical skateboarding seemed videogame-esque to some, it took away something from that kind of skating.

This part with the crust factor and quick combo iterations breaks that barrier to me. Like, it would require some serious AI and computing power to replicate when tech hammer stuff in the past just took a few button presses and a finesse of a joystick. It captures how magical skateboarding can be and how singularly unique it really is.

If he does get SOTY, I don't think Mason or anyone else can be mad at losing to this.

Well done, Mr. Knox and Mr. Harris.

No offense to the people saying SOTY but if Mark Suciu didn’t take it last year and Tiago hasn’t taken it yet, it’ll be a cold day in hell before Tom Knox takes 2020.

Edit, knew I’d be kooked for this, but I’m talking about thrasher magazine not Tom...

I don't think I've ever seen such unanimous praise for a part on Slap.

Loving this perspective! Contrasting the part with video game aesthetics brings to light some of its essential qualities. My friend says that someday we will mention this part in the same breath as Dylan. and Hsu in Bag of Suck. I am inclined to agree.

God damn. Don’t care about SOTY but Knox is the one in my eyes, without a doubt. Fastest feet in the game.

What’s the Day 1410 reference? Call back to a previous Drift episode I’m forgetting? My brain is mashed potatoes drenched in butter.

Atlantic Drift premiered 1410 days ago exactly, and in the first episode it said "Day 1" on the same screen.

Also they the first song they used “Charlotte Pluie” is the second half of the song they used in the first episode “Charlotte Iris”

The little details like that are what makes Jake’s work so amazing.

Tom Knox is easily one of the best back lipsliders ever. Him, Crockett, Heath, Duffy.

I've honestly watched this so many times already. This is the perfect part. Tom Knox can do no wrong. Jacob Harris can do no wrong.

Real stand out of the part is his brother's clip of the duck under then fs 5050 that massive rail in shorts, Hawaiian shirt and man bun (I believe Chris Jones did this BS in a more recent clip). Just the juxtaposition of the two of them was sick to me. Like this video is of gritty street skateboarding in dreary London, then the cool breeze that is Tom Knox's brother surfs up and the sun briefly rises on the English empire as he does a chill floater on a beefy rail. There's even a hugging celebration clip, which seems a bit rare in English footage. Then it goes back to the part, almost like it was a fever dream of good vibrations. In a part full of surprises, it's an additional twist.

-------
As far as Tom's footage, what more can be said? The lines were excellent and well thought out. There's a flat ground heelflip that may be my favorite heelflip of all time. A+ Can't imagine it being any better than this.

Can we also take a second to realize, especially in the current times when so many skaters are dropping solo thrasher parts, the humility of putting the atlantic drift name with this, emphasizing the team effort of a truly amazing part.

Float like a jellyfish, flick like a ???

Not to sound like a wanker, but the part was like some kind of exquisite unending tasting menu, with a series of surprises to keep you refreshed, including a spot selection not a million miles from Destroying America

If this is how he produces after having three kids, please go ahead and have more

Also, can’t wait for the NB AD TN jellyfish anorak

I also still can't believe the fakie tre switch manny to stair jump.  That one blew my mind.

rewound that one a couple of times to see if it was a manual. Thought it was not. If it was, that was a really bad angle for that trick.

Nice part

He won't win, but he has my vote for SOTY.

Sadly I feel the same. Although I wouldn’t be the least bit bummed if Mason took home SOTY. That being said, it’s been a long time since a video has made me so excited.

incredible skating.  reminded me of classic cliche vids...if he got SOTY no complaints from me

that being said some of that needed to be ZOOMED THE FUCK OUT

can we leave the over zoom behind us in 2021

Even though secondary to Tom’s marvelous skateboarding and Jacob Harris’s videography, this part also showcases how much more of skateboarding’s drama is conveyed through VX 4:3 than HD 16:9. And the sound! So raw and direct, emphasized by being mixed very loudly. Try watching Fourth Quarter after this, it lacks all the intensity. To be fair, the rough ground heavily contributes to this.

That was such a delight. He has such an original approach that's tasteful and fun to watch, not to mention at spots most would deem unskateable.

Never forget that Emerica cool guy'd the fuck outta him at one point. Now look at him.

That was just pure gold.
Expectations were high when I heard there was a full Knox part coming and this exceeded in every possible way.

Congrats to Tom and Jacob.
Warm Up Zone. Let's watch some skateboarding videos.
