When I was younger and all about big rails and bails I thought he was boring af, but as I got older I realized he was possibly the most stylish and fun to watch
funny how that works, i was the same. just really shows what kind of skating will always stand the test of time

I think people take for granted now that he was basically the only person doing no complies at the time and they still hold up as some of the best ever. The below clip does not contain said trick but does contain ripping.

I remember back in the day someone at the shop buying one of his last boards and setting it up there, leaving the Retirement Party DVD on the counter. Rinsed that hard.

I've definitely talked shit about his part in Cataclysmic Abyss on here in years past. It's been cool to see how much love he gets from a lot of posters on here and has made me change how I think about his skating. Similar to how some people absolutely love Evan Schiefelbine's part in What If?, and others hate it.
There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.
Note: Clark Hassler died on the way back to his home planet.

I think he’s the perfect example of “style meets simplicity” and how effective that can come across in a video part.

Always looked like he had fun skating doing and choosing weird spots. That's Life era of Foundation was my favorite and the good mix of skaters: Shimizu, Romero, Strubing, Rusczyk, Fowler

You and I had this conversation semi recently, much love homie!

Mike Rusczyk is a personal favorite of mine, and his Art Bars part is my absolute favorite video part of all time.

I’ve even watched his Art Bars part with my father over beers.

I wasn't a fan when I was a kid, and I am not a no comply guy, but he is an absolute artist on the board. Such a great style.

He's a fan of Guided by Voices so that's a big plus for me.

Also, he did a demo in my town that I organized(in hindsight I regret not playing some GbV...but I was busy so Slayer played on repeat. *oops). Mike probably did the gnarliest trick of the demo(close second would be a couple BA tricks). On this 6' tall banked ramp, Mike did a frontside 180 ollie to tail stall on the railing of the ramp, and then popped back in.

I found footage of the trick(@2:08):

Managed to pick up a re-issue of his Amateur Retirement board, from China of all places. Happy to get that one in my collection of wall hangers.

That tour video was dope. Love BA wearing the Oilers jersey. Funny that JT Aultz skated to that song in Since Day one too.

When tum yeto message board was a thing years ago I got to ask him a question and he answered it and that’s the highlight of my mediocre skate career
