I'm not wasting a second reading his bs, but its good to hear he fell for the classic English painter joke of "yeah I'm Banksy" ha ha . Neckface definitely kooked himself again by everyones summary.

People who are dead who can’t disagree with my accounts

Also, I’m a little too young and CA based to have experienced Harold Hunter skateboarding, but is he so fondly remembered because he was such a character?   Every story told about him doesn’t pay a particularly rosy picture.

https://youtu.be/_UNonK9ztcs

"One summer Harold and I spent the entire summer at Woodward skate camp in Pennsylvania. We would go to nearby State College to get away and just walk around and get food. Walking up and down the main street of the college town, Harold would ask everyone he saw if they had seen the movie Kids. Some would ignore him and others would stop and think hard if they’d seen it. Nobody recognized Harold, but before they could even answer Harold would say, “That’s me, yo!” and just start laughing. I miss Harold Hunter."

Harold Hunter had more character in his pinky toe than all these Baker/Deathwish guys combined.

I don't get all the Neckface hate? The dudes own tag is a self burn because hes a fat cunt and no neck profile (hence the beard). Besides that, hes a skater who realised he sucked compared to his mates and took up graffing instead, and thru that channel hes taken his childish shitty demon sketches and made himself into a name that Simpsons artist wanted to meet. That makes me a fan. Fuck the wife wants an 'art piece' in the formal lounge and im wishing I could buy a neckface just to jump onboard the hypebeast.

Jesus Christ, that was fucking painful to read through.

Equal measures deluded and obnoxious, even if it wasn't all "heavily embellished".

Yes I believe an orange demon with hairy arms and legs would really complement your formal lounge.  Make sure you get a replica made and hang that one so you can keep the Neckface in a temperature regulated storage facility in anticipation of the day you sell it at Sotheby’s

I met him when he was in Australia and he was just like any other young ratbag at the time. He got up everywhere too so props for that. Still see a few tags here and there. I think it's cool he made his art stuff work out for him. This feature was hard to stomach though. "People i've looked at". "Somebody I stood near (that is famous)"

I'm in the same age group in that regard, however I've never really heard someone remember their dead 'homie' in such a way as this... beating off in a dark room with trash on the floor, eating chicken bones from said trash..  I feel like people always highlighted his humour or charm more than this, might just be me, but I was still waiting for a punchline or something.

I remember when NF went to Pratt (one of those BK art schools) and was tagging NYC like a motherfucker..... I remember hearing about him and then seeing the tags and thinking it was ok. Then a few years passed and he was more famous and doing the same stuff. Then a few years passed and he was more famous and doing the same stuff. Then a few years passed and he was more famous and doing the same stuff. Repeat, repeat, repeat..........

I dont get it. Just makes me think that the people who embrace him are kooks.

This sort of epitomizes my understanding of how social climbers in LA think. I’m not a Neck Face hater though, he’s dedicated to his art (and partying I guess), and I have to respect that.

These are usually my favorite features in Thrasher but when I read this one I cringed at nearly every entry. Glad to see that is a basically universal take here.

Also I like that he had to clarify people like Matt Groening and Kerry King's titles as if they're the ones that people might not know lol.

The only one I believed was the Mike Carrol one. I've seen him turn up on some weeeeiiiird shit on instagram. That Nyjah party video was pretty wild, too.

I was legit bummed on the Kirsten Dunst one. No one deserves to be discussed like that in a magazine by a stranger.
