What’s up with all the idiots on that Twitter thread complaining that it’s says he’s an icon and legend because they never heard of him? So weird and disrespectful
[close]

What? That's absurd. But there's a lot of people that still hold the mentality of "I havn't heard of it, so it must not be good".
What the fuck is a Bonny Bear?!?!?

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

My brother is over and he had only heard mad villainy a few times, but he was pretty shocked. He doesnt care for him much.

That's his prerogative,  but I said MF DOOM is kinda like company flow or the second jedi mind tricks album. Your gonna need alot of listens to understand what the fuck is happening.

DOOM was a fuckin genious. It's crazy how hes underground yet still so popular.

I would have paid money to sit in the room and watch DOOM and del write/record together

The G.O.A.T.  Been a fan since the Gas Face and the first kmd album. I saw him in SF or at least I think I saw him, sometimes he would send someone else out in the mask to do a show. I just heard he was into Bukowski which is a trip. R.I.P. Doom.

I always wondered if this was a cormac mccarthy/ blood meridian reference on Vats of urine;

Yeah, when it's fresh, it's sterile
Some say digestible, even edible

Survive dehyrdation, guzzle your own cup full
Some day, you may even show your son how
To use it to make potassium nitrate for gunpowder

It's just starting to sink in for me today. His music is attached to a lot of memories and nostalgia. I spent a lot of time with close buddies smoking up over DOOM records in the mid-late 2000's. Now i'm sitting in my room with no one around going through his back catalogue. He brought so much colour into the world and i'll always be grateful.

I went through today and found maybe 20 photos from his first ever Australian tour.
Gonna put some together in a zine over the next few days/weeks.

Anyone want a copy let me know and I'll sling one out.

I'm from Australia and missed seeing him during that tour. Would love a copy.

Cool, I'm gonna work on it over my days off. I'm speaking to the promotor (Trent Roden from Slingshot) to see if he wants to do a foreword.
I'll DM once I have it all up.

What year was this first tour? 2011?
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

Funny enough, I just overheard this type of mentality today. I was at guitar center picking out some strings while the employees were loudly bragging around the cash register about how they've never heard of MF DOOM and didn't understand how some rapper dying was such a big deal.
