whats your favorite go to method? i usually just do the half cuff, not 1 whole cuff, or use scissors and cut them highwater style

Fold pants cuffs definitely, I hated the way cut offs looked back in the day and I hate it now.  Something about cut offs just looks trashy and beat looking.

1/2 cuff with cup soles
Cut off with vulcs
I can not and will not budge on this theory.

Always cuff, if I can find pants long enough I'll do the double cuff and that is the best.

For some unknown reason I cannot cuff my jeans/pants. It just looks way off on my body. Always have to search high and low for a short inseam. Only thing I wear as cutoffs are shorts.

Agree on the cut off shorts - Dickies 874 all day every day, normal long pants except on super hot days and then it is cut offs.

When I bought a whole lot of very cheap long length 874s from a clearance lot, I got them taken up to the right length by a professional shop and they turned out great.  I am glad I did that the ten or more years ago now because the other ones that I left long just feel weird when I cuff them up, even though I wear them more just going out sometimes.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Ideally, I'd wear 32x29 or something, I'm lucky if I can find 32x30, usually it's 32x32, so all the pants are cuffed. I got one pair of cutoffs that were carharrt work pants 32x34 or something that just looked abhorrent cuffed. I wanna get a sewing machine and hem my pants

Always cuff over cut, for me. I cuff almost all my pants.

Cut pants/Jeans are hard to pull of unless you got the right shoes underneath them. Pretty much cut of loose Dickies style chinos with Cons, Last Resort AB, Slipons, slimmer Van's, etc.

1/2 cuff for me.
Leave cut of pants to blind jeans.

Cuff always. Partly cus I’m stupid and can’t cut in a straight line to save my life. Also I’ve been wearing selvedge denim for the past 6 or 7 years and like how it looks cuffed.

No hard rule here between the two imo, case by case basis depending on your body-shape, shoes and the pants in question. Tfunks cutoffs in that recent hillbomb post look ridiculous, shitty raggedy too short pissflaps blowing in the wind.
I'd say hem, if you can. Over lockdown I borrowed my flatmate's sewing machine and started hemming the more ridiculously long pants, and cut and hemmed a few into jorts. Jorts are great for skating in, your feet aren't weighed down by denim, but you feel more protected skidding on your ass.
Sometimes cutting them shorter means the leg openings are now too wide, and need to be tapered again, which is easy enough, just do it before you hem.
If you see offensive comments, just let it go into one eye and let it out of the other eye, no tears and not sadness or anger.

i do my best to just find pants that fit me as they are, but when they haven't i have always cuffed, but i always felt weird in cuffed pants.

i cut my first pair last week and have been wearing them since {and am currently wearing them} - this feels a lot better to me. i was very anxious while cutting them, not that they were expensive pants - i'm just a depressive stresser and was ready to be really upset at myself for ruining my pants - but i didn't!

i've been complimented twice by random people about how comfortable my pants look since i cut them, which has been surprising and nice. i don't know if i look like it, but i feel like a cool kung fu guy in these pants now.

i think it's a very case by case kind of thing. i see a lot of younger guys in cut pants and i think they cut them too high and they look fucking stupid, or i think they just cut all their pants, and i don't think all their pants need cutting...i don't know...it's a complex issue

I usually just tailor the hems, but I've been known to cut and cuff occasionally.

Pro tip for the boys who cut:
If you have access to a sewing machine, two lines of narrow straight stitches parallel to the cut will prevent fraying beyond that line. Do the stitches right away if you don't want any dangly bits, or wait until the edge is fucked up to your taste and do the stitches to lock it in.

Dickies and Carhartts have been my go to pants last 20+ year’s. Always fold twice up for a slight high water look Especially when it’s fall/wintertime skating but if not tennis shorts in the summertime.

I can barely get shit that fits let alone pull off any type of fashion maneuver.

It's trial and error, skate shit just needs to fit comfortable; watching fools hike their pants up before each trick ala Prod...just get comfy shit.

Outside of skating? Get a fucking tailor...you off the shelf heathens.

Just wanna add, quite a few people cuff because they like to, not because their pants don't fit right and they have to do it.

I like the look of a cuff on most chinos and denim I own, so I do it. I also do it because I'd rather my shoes get beat up over the ends of my pants while skating.

I may wanna dabble in cutting an older pair I don't care for and see what happens!

I do the one cuff with jeans and like half a cuff with dickies (Just like that little up part from the seam at the bottom if that makes anysense). I do own a pair of parts too long for me I sometimes cuff alittle more because they get underneath the heel of my sneakers at times. I don't cut the bottom of my pants with scissors because I'm only 30 and think I still have a few more growth spirts in me.

I don't cuff or cut any of my pants. I just get a 32 inseam and I'm good but I always make a few pairs of Dickies into shorts in the spring time.

I like getting stuff that fits and will last.

If you like cut offs one day, cool, but you'll regret it and potentially ruin a pair of pants that could have had a much longer life otherwise.

no cuffs. I prefer my pants to sit on my shoe which has lead to a completely new madness for me with slight tapers. I take almost every pair of pants I get to a tailor. When it comes down to it though I would probably prefer a cut off. I hate how bulky cuffs look and how they sit on shoes.

Neither. I need size 30 legs and I‘m fine but it‘s hard to find L30 Dickies over here for some reason. Got 3 pairs rn so they should last a while unless I get any fatter   ::)
