Posting helpies isnt great but Pat’s explanation was fair and in good faith. I had the pleasure hanging with him a long, long time ago. At the time, I’m not sure if Pat had a place to stay but he was crashing at my friends place in SF. He was 16. He was sponsored by Experience. The way I remember it, Pat didn’t even have a skateboard. He’d sell his box as soon as he got it and borrow a board at the spot if people were filming. Pretty crazy. Very nice dude.

A lot of those guys didn’t come from great households. No support systems. Life ain’t easy when you’re fending for yourself at such a young age. I believe Lavar and Marcus had a similar situation.

In the spirit of recent events maybe we don’t pick apart the messenger. Instead, we listen to spirit of what he’s saying and see if there’s a way to help. If FTC had a go fund me, I’d kick some money down.

Can we start a Lavar Gofundme?

I guess but I have no connection to Lavar. I suggested FTC because they’re established and could get the help to him.

Man I would be lavar's bestfriend that dude is ill and a great person. I wonder if your story is bullshit tho.. But maybe not.. However if he does suffer from mental illness I wonder if his brother Marcus looks out for him.

Lavar's story deserves to be told. Amazing talent who was also one of the youngest pros in the 90's plus he completely killed it - even for years after his career was basically over. His life and times are one of the great unsolved mysterious of the golden era.

that last line was absolutely incredible. the whole thing was incredible, but you can tell he was really feeling it that day with the last clip. i think of lavar to be in the same league as penny, for me at least. just so fucking out there and spun, but still just has the most incomprehensible flow. he couldnt fake the funk if his life depended on it. to me, that's pure skateboarding, none of this gentrified shit that's happening now.

I just came here to say that Lavar is one of my favorites and he inspired me so much when I was a teenager growing up in the mid nineties. Thank you Lavar for Trilogy and the two 411 profiles. His board from western edition hangs on my wall and is one of my favorite once. One of the best to ever do it with his long lines and style.

Mc Brides "Bob Marley" deck was the first actual skateboard I ever held that wasn't a shitty Argos catalogue one.

theres this thing called instagram, not sure if you have heard of it. users can upload pictures right from their mobile devices with just a couple taps. my favorite pro aurelian giraud posts some wild stuff on there, dude bs 360d a pyramid like 20 feet in the air the other day. highly recommend for any skater. can use all standard android / iOS emoji's on there too. its like facebook but without all of people's stupid, worthless opinions all over the place (for the most part)

Yeah, KC´s part is dope no Joke! ( nollie hardflips over Cali pic-nic tables and all that!!! )

but Daewon´s and Ronnie Creager´s part is also ones of the best parts EVER!!!  ( the 90´s tech wizards )

( Trilogy is so DOPE )

also, maybe the best switch 360 flip on flat is on that movie : Gideon Choi

that mid/late-90s style was the BEST!!!!

If Daewons part was released today it would blow minds.

The level of tech is nuts and he makes it look so smooth.
