April 1992 1st edition
« on: January 21, 2021, 09:15:06 AM »
What’s up guys. I’m looking to get a copy of the first slap magazine. Can anyone help? Pretty sure I was in this edition on a page called Welfare or welfare recipients. Almost 30 years ago so kind of hard to remember lol.  Any help would be awesome!!!

Checked with the people here and they said unfortunately the only copies we have left are for archival purposes, so not for sale. Good Luck!

I am looking into this, found some old scans, but not the first issue yet.

@admin There used to be an archival link back when Slap had a main page for the magazine content. I wish they brought that back there were some really good videos in there

Yeah we had to disable it as it was becoming a security risk due to the inability to upgrade the software for it without dedicating a bunch of time ensuring the content worked through the upgrade. We still have all the content though, which is what I am scouring through.

You guys clearly have web developers but if you need any more web help let me know. I'd be glad to donate my time, preferably anonymously. I've been a frontend dev for about six years now.

To be honest this would be a way to bring it back if we had community help, but unfortunately the majority of the work would be backend PHP, MySQL work.

Still no luck on finding these old Scans, looks like the link provided to the "First Issue" post Mark made a long time ago had been deleted after they transition to the "Online" only version of the mag. I am asking our archivist if he can hunt any down though.

Awesome let me know in this thread once you scan it, and I can DM you my email to send it to. I will host it for people on the SLAP site and post a link in this thread.
