Skated  a couple hours before work. Scraped up a couple passable fs flips.
Adequate.

Woke up feeling a little down, the sky was grey and it looked the rain. I said fuck it and went out anyway, opting to leave the bike and push around away from downtown, exploring a bit. I went by a friend's house, she wasn't home so I wrote a note, folded it into a paper airplane and tosses it up on her balcony, then I cruised to a skatepark I haven't checked out in awhile. The sun came out, I ran into a friend, and we skated for about three hours. We landed a satisfying amount of the midrange tricks tried and on my way home I found a big cache of music equipment on the curb. I got a bunch of boutique pedals, a sampler, and a harmonizer pedal, pretty sweet. Now I'm sitting on the balcony in a good mood, in the warm evening air, thank goodness I went skating.

100% , it was the dude's brother, he was carrying out more stuff as i rolled up and said his bro moved out over a year ago and was given a deadline to move his gear but didn't. Bad situation, but what am I gonna do, there was already some lady in a suburban loading up the rice cooker and everything she could get her hands on.

Damn! Good for you

Been skating a new park for me in my area and using my Dane 1 with Bones rough riders.

Last night one of the skaters there first bumped me in the way out and said ‘have a good evening sir.’

Such a nice young man raised to respect his elders.

In fact, everyone was really nice. Where are the bad vibes? So confused…

New board, new shoes, warmed up , skated flat then cruised the rest of the park. Almost learned a new one but it was hot so I got overheated and quit trying.

Rained all day yesterday. I had set up a new 8.25 with some new mag lights and 48mm wheels to change it up from my big heavy curb deck. Had a blast doing different 180s and stuff over a crack in my garage. Started messing around with switch. Switch used to come easy to me, now 20 plus years later, no. Breaking in new trucks/bushings is unpleasant.

Saturday I tried 360 flips the whole session, no success.
Today I tried slappy crooks to regular the whole session, no success.

There's days like these I guess.

First time out in 2 weeks yesterday. Slaps were ok, mini ramp game was 100% organic, grass fed, cruelty free, weak sauce.

Shook off the cobwebs after a week not skating. Did a slappy crook I was proud of, and was trying to get better looking front boards (my nemesis)

did my first proper 180 kickturn on a fairly large concrete quarter pipe.  just had a mental block with that 'trick'.  kinda did my first heelflip too but it was pretty sketch.  scooterkids were twats.

Had a session after work at the school down the street, just skated the red curb out front for 30-40 mins. My backs been killing me but I  managed to get a fakie front nose to regular, fakie, and shove out. My roll aways are whack but I blame that partly on having sub 49 mm wheels, but way better than last sessions attempts for sure. It feels cool cause it kind of feels like a switch back tail if you lock in just right. For the record I’ve never done a ssbsts

Had a session at a local skatepark and chatting it up with old friends and new skaters still skating and re-learning stuff for fun on the weekends. Beers came out for the old heads on a blazing sunday and beginner kids learning to roll in and feel the park out with their pops or chaperone on the smaller side of the park. Tried to warm up and play skate to get the bag of flatground tricks going, and got skunked first go in like 5 minutes. I’ve been skating super loose trucks just to challenge myself a bit more, as well as having a bit more control with turning and landing softer to avoid wheel bite. I managed to skate for like 30 minutes after and landed a switch frontside flip and switch heel, after not doing those tricks in 4-5 years.

Lost about 50+ pounds after being close to 300 lbs during peak covid times (my heaviest). Hoping to use skateboarding at the park, local curb, or on the streets (if there is filmer slap pals out there who films other slap pals/newbs) as my outlet to creatively and physically escape from everything negative happening in my personal/family life.

Went to a skatepark a bit out of the way because I wanted a spot to practice Blunt Fakie, my normal skate group also hates on this place a bit because there's a lot of beginners and people who frequent a different skate shop (lol). Everyone was chill, I landed a few Blunt to rock to Fakie and Back Tails so it was a good session. Some guy gave me an almost brand new set up 55mm conical full spitfires so I was hyped.

Son was at skate school at my local DIY, meaning I get about 45 of free time after they finish up and before the next class starts. I don’t know why but these sessions always make me skate faster than I usually would. Son dropped in on a medium sized ramp for the first time so I got hyped and dropped in on the biggest ramp in the park (we sort of made a deal a while back that I’d do it), gave me butterflies and I was mad pumped afterwards.

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

Only skated the skatepark in my neighborhood this weekend. A few hours on Saturday, and two separate sessions yesterday; One in the morning and one shorter session in the evening. I would’ve kept skating longer but both of my knees started aching. I’ll attribute that to getting older

skated cecil in philly today for the first time

i don't know why people even bother to go there anymore, the flatground isnt good anymore bc there are 0.5-1 inch wide cracks between the marble tiles everywhere. old videos make it look like a big plaza but its really small. if you push three times you'd immediately get to the other side

i think its historical significance is the only reason people chill there. if we took that away, it would just be another shitty flatground spot

The last one was a good one, first i found a pair of leo romero's emerica at the thrift store for 2 dollars that felt perfect riding, then i have started teaching my wife's doughter to skate, some pushing around, tic-tacing, going up and down a bank and droping from curbs and she got hyped a lot, and lastly i redicovered an old spot in a new way and had a satisfying line for a dessert :)
