What do you do if you see someone slam?

“You good?” if it looked kinda bad, “shiiiit” with a little laugh if it’s something dumb like a gnarly shinner but if I see someone really tweak their shit I stop and see what I can do. God knows I’ve fucked up other people’s sessions destroying my ankle horribly in front of everyone. Couple of dudes straight up said “nope, day’s over” and left once after I rolled my shit sideways.

If someone took a hard slam and clearly looked like they were in pain, I'm for sure skating up to check on them. Any other situation, I'm pretending I didn't see shit. Idk about y'all but I get so embarrassed whenever I get smoked at the park and would prefer it if nobody acknowledged it lol

Depends on the slam.  Sometimes it’s funny and sometimes it’s not.  We’re all well versed in slamming, or at least we should be. You can tell if someone got worked.

There were some actual skaters at the park today which made me realize if they're anywhere from teenagers to young adults I will ignore the slam unless they get super fucked up. Priority to looking out for the little kids or old dudes like myself. I remember in the summertime this weird guy with a shaped board was meekly skating around the outskirts of the park in the really crummy asphalt extension and eating shit so hard doing the most basic stuff. I kept grimacing and occasionally asking if he was good, then tried to convince him to come to the better part and roll around. I felt bad cause it seemed like he thought I was making fun of him as he didn't reply and just kept stubbornly hitting rocks and eating shit. Bums me out seeing people too shy to come skate the general area since it's nearly 3 decades old and there are no bad vibes here. A couple really young skaters I notice do the same thing or skate at the school just across from the park. When I was the only one there one day they both came to the park and were asking me tips on how to ollie and I was trying to help them learn kickturns on the quarterpipe. Got me super hyped since I never see young kids picking up skating these days. Just inifinite scooter kids it seem...

If it's gnarly; breaks, bad tweaks, face smack, head smack, etc. I'll go over to make sure they're gonna be okay. Otherwise, I try to help them laugh it off and roll with the punches. "Ow, that one fuckin sucked, huh?" or similar.

I busted my eyebrow at Burnside a few months ago by smashing my face into the flat, and got something of a standing ovation walking out to the street.

If it's more of a minor slam, you gotta take the power out of it and keep the sesh rolling
