kinda crazy it took this long for him to talk about graffiti openly. Had some classic jersey graffiti in his La Luz part (Scar I think).if anyone’s visiting NY, or lives here and doesn’t know, He’s got a roller with Fanta down on Bowery still rocking from the 90s. heading downtown from Houston street look up to the left. Unless some idiots went over it since I looked last.

A lot of dudes from the 90s were really with the shits though atleast NY and SF. Genuinely don’t know if that happened in LA, but it seems everyone in SF had a name even if they barely wrote. With the OG busflow. Smyth even had RESN on his TM dunk colorway that was tight I gotta find my pair them shits is probably worth bread now. And NY was a free for all until 9/11 so everyone wrote something.

The best graffiti ever done was done by 15 year olds with shitty stolen paint in the dark on PCP 1975-1983. Everyone’s just been trying to catch up to those dudes ever since.

it definitely feels like there is sort of an undercurrent of a graffiti scene, especially amongst a sort of East coast/SF "cool guy" brand of 90's skater. The cool part is that it is almost never talked about and you just pick up little hints here and there. It's kind of badass to think there's this sort of parallel network within skating of dudes that also paint. I don't know shit about it and that's fine by me, but its sick.

I'm from jersey and knew about Neckface from graffiti way before him having anything to do with skating. I used to have Video graff tapes...12oz Prophet mags.

Around 91, my neighbor had a cousin that moved from Oakland CA to jersey. He came wearing size 48 dickies. We connected through graffiti and the rave scene.... he got ragged on for his style until Skateboarding took hold in our area within a year. Then people were wearing JNCOs and all that crap.

Ravers, writers, breakers, and skaters were in the same community in the 90s.
