Would you rat?
« on: February 17, 2021, 07:10:06 PM »
You are arrested along with at least one other person for some serious 25 to life, no parole type shit.  The police interrogate you separately and offer you a deal if you to spill the beans on anyone involved.

Are you snitching?
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

Speaking generally if you’re getting questioned it’s what they call a fishing expedition on tv shows, if they got you dead to rights you’re copping charges straight up

25 to life is a long time
That omertà stuff is bullshit, lotta people particularly ones with families take the deal. I can’t judge

If I'm dead to rights, maybe I'll talk to my lawyer and see if they want to plea out.

If there's any doubt at all, fuck that I'm going to court

I wouldn't do anything in the first place that would ever cause me to get into a situation like this in the first place.  But if my options are spending 25+ years in prison vs snitching, I'm going to snitch.

The Prisoner's Dilemma says you shouldn't snitch:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner%27s_dilemma

"Two members of a criminal gang are arrested and imprisoned. Each prisoner is in solitary confinement with no means of communicating with the other. The prosecutors lack sufficient evidence to convict the pair on the principal charge, but they have enough to convict both on a lesser charge. Simultaneously, the prosecutors offer each prisoner a bargain. Each prisoner is given the opportunity either to betray the other by testifying that the other committed the crime, or to cooperate with the other by remaining silent. The possible outcomes are:

If A and B each betray the other, each of them serves two years in prison
If A betrays B but B remains silent, A will be set free and B will serve three years in prison
If A remains silent but B betrays A, A will serve three years in prison and B will be set free
If A and B both remain silent, both of them will serve only one year in prison (on the lesser charge)."

I don't plan on doing anything stupid enough that will get me 25 to life. So, I don't plan on ever being in a position where I have to rat. So, no. Granted to get 25 to life where I live you would have to do some really heinous shit.

Lawyer up, cops can't cut deals only the DA can. And don't ever believe that "we'll put in a good word for you with the prosecutor" shit. I also only associate with others that are smart enough to know these things.

I hail from the streets where "Stop Snitchin" videos were born.

In high school I was once suspended for not snitching. I wasn't even one of the accused, I was a witness. I ain't see shit and I ain't got nothing to say.

I’m gonna leave this here in case you have never heard this warning directly spoken to you by a cop. There is a reason they are forced to warn you of the following:

You have the right to remain silent and refuse to answer questions.
Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law.
You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking to the police and to have an attorney present during questioning now or in the future.
If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish.
If you decide to answer questions now without an attorney present, you will still have the right to stop answering at any time until you talk to an attorney.
Knowing and understanding your rights as I have explained them to you, are you willing to answer my questions without an attorney present?

i do not talk to police under any circumstances without a lawyer present

if you are in it deep enough to be looking at 25 to life you’re also in deep enough for someone to fuck you up for talking.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I’m not doing anything to be looking at 25 to life.
But let’s imagine how that could happen to somebody who is generally law abiding:

Drunk driving related deaths- I don’t drink, but this would be the most likely scenario I can imagine anybody I know getting 25 to life.  Probably not too likely for anybody I know(criminal record, etc).  I don’t drink but once or twice a year, and I would never get behind the wheel after doing so.
Transferring/selling of drugs- not going to happen to me because I would never take anything that didn’t come from a pharmacy.  How can I be sure?  Because I would never take a “street” pill.  Ever.  I assume it’s all fake and laced with fentanyl.  And I would never sell anybody anything, so that’s not going to happen.  I know people who might do that.

But how else is that going to just “happen?”  If you’re looking at 25 to life you’ve either been playing this game awhile or you just jumped in and made a miscalculation on your timing.

You wake up every morning
In this living hell
Not knowing that
You're worst enemy is me
You never know what can happen
Within this cell
Betrayal is what I feel
Revenge is what I seek
No hesitation, no turning back
I gotta do it, I have no choice
Gotta do what I
Gotta do for the crew
Down by law
What you did I can't
Forgive my so called brother
I can't let my feelings
Get in the way
Why you turn your back
On the crew
We always had your back
We'd die for you
You ratted on your boy
Something you never do

Now his life is over
And yours is too
Down by law
We made a promise to eachother
A promise that you choose to break
We stuck together no matter what
My brother
You turned you're back
And proved you're fake
Down by law
You've left me no choise
The strength of a gesture
A thought with no voice
The clock is ticking
You're time is up
Now's my chance, I gotta move fast
Our memories I put to rest
It's the law we chose to live by
You broke the fuckin' rules
You must die
Why
why come?
