Thinkin of skatin again
« on: April 29, 2021, 08:17:20 AM »
It's kinda funny, cuz I asked the internet "What age should I quit skateboarding?". Little did I know what would result from that search. This is how I found Slap Magazine. Definitely found lots of responses about old farts skating. Most were quite encouraging. I happen to be 56, and thought I was hanging it up last year. I hit the back of my head in a Vista, CA pool, while NOT wearing a helmet. Ended up in the ICU at Tri-City hospital for 4 days, and then another 3 under observation. I had bleeding on my brain. So 13 months later, and after spending alot of time at the park watching my son ride, my itch is back. But, I WILL BE WEARING A HELMET, and so should everyone.  Just saying, hope you are listening. Glad to have found you Slap Magazine,
From an old friend of Kevin Staab and Danny Way.
Bobby Reed 56 feelin the stoke!

Welcome! I echo the helmet sentiment. Wearing one doesn't take away the stoke one bit. I hope you get to keep rolling for at least a couple more decades.
