That’s because the average fan and nba media never give Toronto the respect they deserve(d). I remember listening to some podcasts and they’d just touch on the Raptors best season for maybe 5 minutes, then jump to LeBron or some shit. I get our market is small, but you can’t give more than 5 minutes to a team that was dominating the league at that time? No one needs to hear you ramble for the third week in a row about what a mess Philly is. (This take goes back a couple years)

I haven’t heard anyone mention T-mac, other than “oh yeah he was on the team”.

I think the Vince vs. Kyle comes down to age. I remember Vincanity and all that, but when you say Raptors, Lowry and Demar come to mind. They made the most impact on the city when it comes to basketball. Also coupled with the “we are north” campaign which was really well done, and is mimicked in other industries years later.
