Bakerboys now distributing 917

Wasn’t there some interview very early on in 917’s formation where Alex specifically said he didn’t want to be responsible for running a “real” company that was beholden to seasonal release schedules, etc?  Certainly people can change their mind over time, but this still doesn’t seem like something Alex would want to do.  Did he fully give up the reigns and will just be a rider again?

Dude, I'm telling ya, there's some fuckin weird shit going on with their shapes. I was so stoked cause it was a greco board but the ends were all fucked and pointy, and the concave was like 4 mm. Literally couldn't pop anything. This was like 3 years ago but that awful ass board scarred me.

i second that. skated a bunch of them, all in 8.25, they were all a bit different but every deck felt kinda long wheelbasewise. good wood though. i really liked one of them but never found the exact same shape again from them.

I wish they made boards with a 14” wb, seems like ever board out of BB is 14.25 and up.

917 has a flatter 14.12 wheelbase that has been on most of the recent drops and on all of them for the past few years. I’ve skated it twice and it’s nice, but a bit mellow for my tastes. It’s a less pointy Baker, which is why there’s footage of Cyrus on Bakers here and there.

I have a Greco b16 shape with a 14” wheelbase, where it should be 14.25. I also have one of the primitive 8.25s that are listed as a 14, but it is closer to 14.25. The deathwish is older, I’ve had it done 2017, just set it up before the winter, so covid bbs theories don’t apply.

Also, good for them. I bought some softgoods from them last summer and they never showed up after I waited months. I had to hit em up a couple times and they were like yeah our current distributor is blowing it and the stuff you ordered is sold out. I couldn't really find anything I wanted for equal value so they took a hit and let me get a hat and longsleeve which was like 10 bucks more total than my OG order. Thanks 917! No more costly mistakes thanks to the BakerBoys
