Beautiful Video.

508 used to be all of eastern mass except for Boston. I think it changed in the late 80s and it was split into more area codes so... maybe they're using some poetic license here.

yes, 508 area code spans a significant portion of Massachusetts. Westgate is from south coast/cape area, which also happen to be the area referred to by inhabitants as "the 508," hence the name of the shoe. It's a colloquialism rather than poetic license. Kids from Worcester would say they're from Worcester, whereas kids from Bristol/Plymouth counties would say from the 508.

either way, it doesn't really matter because it's a sick part and I'm stoked he's got such. good work going. I feel like the spots in this ad are next level and at the same time the sort of shit people find in their hometowns and think "yooo, that'd be sick to do that..." but it doesn't get done because it's off the hook

Grew up with a 508 phone number, my cell is also 508. I'm so fucking proud, tbh.

If the 508 had a capital it would be Buzzards Bay. Anything over the bridges would be the beautiful wealthy suburbs and anything mainland would be the sticks or the ghetto. Westgate would be the mayor.

I don’t think it’s been mentioned, but filming was really well done. The edit overall felt nice and tight.

Gave it another watch, and it got even better (gonna return to this through many a zoom-meeting in the upcoming future)

...who the hell looks at a rail, where you have to run out on a swimming pool cover and thinks that's a spot  ;D

I feel like Brandon got passed over or just chose some shitty sponsors. It seems nb is taking care of him and that's awesome but Element is a terrible place for him. And how is this man on Ricta. I feel like he would be such a good fit on Real or even Toy Machine but at this point it's just not in the stars.
[close]

Can’t explain Ricta, but Element makes sense as he seems to make moves on what provides more stability financially/career-wise than image enhancing.   I’m sure the Donny Barley connection doesn’t hurt either

Nyjah is on ricta which makes me think ricta can pay well. But that's just speculation

This guys seems to treat skating like some sort of job.  In an awesome way and not like the in the 1920’s or whatever that joke was.
Like a session wouldn’t be that much “fun” but if you need somebody to help tear off and re-shingle your house this is absolutely the dude you call because he will be on time, bring his own tools and be all about starting and working to facilitate getting the job done.  You might lose him though if lunch drags on and the rest of the squad is doing more beers than shingles.  He will just peace out because he can go home and replace the faucet in the downstairs bathroom.

Wow, I wish someone re-edited his Peace part, those songs didn't do the skating justice. First song was okay, but that Operation Ivy song suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Another classic Westgate nollie flip at 1:13 in this where he's fully facing forward instead of squared with the board.

Holy shit such a good remix.

Standouts include:
- 1/2 cab flip at 0:41
- BS Nosegrind 180 out at 1:52, the drop is insanely high
- Curved lipslide at 2:50
- Ollie up and clearing the gap at 3:22, that ollie up...
- The dude saying "oh my god" at 2:18 sums it up perfectly

Someone on here said it best: the spots he skates shouldn't even be classified as spots

My new favorite analogy on Slap. I like it even more because that's the way I'm wired too. Actually all my buddies from the area are like this, maybe it's something in the water.  Man I wish my gnar button wasn't broke.

508

That story basically happened. I think in his Epicly Later’d, Donny Barley said that one time he mentioned to Brandon he had to take his car to the shop to get looked at because it was making a noise and Brandon immediately was like “don’t do that - I’ll take a look at it” and came over to his house almost immediately and fixed his car for him for free and then went home to do some home repairs.

It was gorgeous, not denying that. But some folks were hating on it before.

Skaters I've shown the part to (even those who don't follow skateboard culture) are impressed by his skating. Pure, raw and undeniably good skating.
