Cyrus of 917
« on: March 03, 2021, 08:10:32 AM »
In the new The Bunt S13E02 Cyrus talks about how he feels “stale” being on 917, especially after his reviewing of the slap interview. This could be the demise of 917 that everyone has been anticipating lmao
He said “everybody quit,” after he had left and that there are a few free agents. Hugo? Max? Darn.

Always seemed like Johnny Wilson was the one holding everyone together at 917 and as soon as he started working on Blessed, the team started falling apart.

This is good news. I don't dislike 917 but it is slovenly - and those guys are not!
I liked his Bunt interview - no bullshit. Exciting.

Whatever the reason Andrew left is probably what he’s talking shit on. What’s up with that anyway? Cyrus and Andrew on baker would be so sick.

Cyrus and Max should start 212 skateboards and be the elite area code team.

i like 917, but respect that they all quit. if they didn't have any influence at all and everything was so problematic, they are way better off somewhere else or doing their own thing.

Yeah I mean it's kinda whatever really, sad that it fizzled out this way after 2 pretty great videos. I don't wanna be a Debbie downer but I think I'd rather just see them on different, already established teams rather than starting their own thing. There's so many new/small companies these days that brand identities just get blurred to me. Plus I kinda just want to see Max on Isle.

Sounded like they are staring their own company.

I hope that is not the case, b/c he will be too busy running the company to skate.

Would like to see Max on Isle, but curious what a Most Productive Crew brand (whatever they call it) could be.

917 had potential, but Alex doesn't seem like someone who can stay long-term focused on one goal.

917 has always been cool to me, but from Cyrus's interview, I can see why they can't keep anyone on their team long term. Seems like Alex is really the problem, as a lot of people have previously suggested. It's like he's good at the secondary stuff of running a brand - picking good team riders, curating a good and cohesive brand image, etc.; but terrible at the actual work of running a business (communication, organization, management skills, etc.). If someone else could run the money/business side of a skate brand and just let Alex handle the more creative side, that would probably work. Seems like he's a terrible brand owner, but would be great as someone's Director Of Cool Vibes.

Wherever they go, I just hope Max and Cyrus stick together.

I see them as a package deal, like Donovan and Big John, but way better.
I'm still kinda hurt the Nik Stain changed board sponsors without them.
Warm Up Zone. Let's watch some skateboarding videos.

AO should just man up for once and gift ( maybe keep a mall percentage) 917 to Max and Cyrus.
That would be a repectable move and he can fold in dignity
