917 has always been cool to me, but from Cyrus's interview, I can see why they can't keep anyone on their team long term. Seems like Alex is really the problem, as a lot of people have previously suggested. It's like he's good at the secondary stuff of running a brand - picking good team riders, curating a good and cohesive brand image, etc.; but terrible at the actual work of running a business (communication, organization, management skills, etc.). If someone else could run the money/business side of a skate brand and just let Alex handle the more creative side, that would probably work. Seems like he's a terrible brand owner, but would be great as someone's Director Of Cool Vibes.
