I can't fully articulate "why", but Big Baller Brand makes sense.

Yuto is like the best guy on Nike in terms of all around ability. He either got a better deal somewhere else or Nike really cleaning house. Is nyjah even still on Nike? if you search for his shoe on Nike dot com, it’s not up there anymore....

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

The “can’t wait to see what my future holds” line makes me think that he actually got cut and is just trying to be positive about it.

Dude was featured on the Ellen show so...

yeah i genuinely can't imagine why he would just get "cut" there is definitely more cuttable names on that roster. I guess i could imagine him being in line for a raise/new contract and Nike making it clear that wasn't going to happen.

New Balance is the only one that makes sense, can't imagine him on Adidas, Cons or any of the core companies. Maybe someone else is getting ready to start something.

Might be a long shot but with Lakai being bought by that Taiwanese conglomerate a couple years ago I would think they would want as much exposure during the Olympics as possible. If I was them, I'd get as many people on Lakai as possible, even if it's just for a 6 month contract.

Fuck, Willis is the man and deserves to get paid. He's also super productive.

Weiner would have been considered as Legacy? Wasn't he like on the 2nd wave of riders?

If I could predict who would win gold, silver, and bronze. I would straight up spend $20 million for a two year contract on each of those guys.

I'm pretty sure it was decided that he'd bring such a huge audience to the brand that they had to offer him part ownership of the company instead of a normal contract. Terpening is actually living out on a yacht in Monaco.

RED BULL SHOES!!!
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

Cash it in, Zion. Go the youtuber route, and get on Braille shoes.

The only scenario that makes sense regarding Terps, is that he negotiated his original contract to be a smaller paycheck but like 10 years long, which he must be nearing the end of.

I was a huge fan of this kid but then came the Red Bull visors and dressing like Wesley Snipes in Demolition Man and his skating became less enjoyable.

Leave Wesley out of this. Demolition man is a fantastic major motion picture, I repeat. Fantastic. Get out of here and don’t come back, you freshly shaved asshole.

Damn, I had no idea about Wieger! I'm more upset over that than Zion leaving. There hasn't been a lot of people to leave Nike on their own terms, I'm guessing. Covid cuts coming just in time for the spring Dunk drops.
