Sopranos show appreciation
« on: March 04, 2021, 04:49:00 PM »
Who's your favorite character in the show and why? If you could hangout with one which one would you kick it with.

For me it'd be Christopher, Paulie and Silvo easily the italian version of the 3 stooge's.  Put some stripper's drinks and food somehow hilarity would ensue..

Bobby Bacala grew on me. He did so much for that family, and they just shit all over him. Also, Furio.

You and the D00D have turned this thread into a horrible head-on-collision between a short bus full of regular kids and a van full of paraplegics.

Paulie, Silvio and Bobby B for sure. Furio was badass in his first few scenes but didn't do shit after a while, just simping for Carmela.

Most interesting character to me, aside from Tony, was Ralphie. How you couldn't tell if Tony was killing him for the horse or the stripper was brilliant, imo.

I would only really hang out with Tony.

Definitely one of my Top 5 dramas (1. Oz, 2./3.[tie] The Wire/The Sopranos, 4. The Shield, 5. Six Feet Under)

It’s a good one, they ran it on free to air here I think it was 9pm mondays, there wasn’t any of that streaming stuff back then it was the last tv show I would make time for
It was so much better than anything else on tv at the time

I like all the characters, but probably paulie the most, Johnny sack was real nice to his missus too I liked that
Bobby easy had the best character arc though

How goods the pine barrens one, that episode is seriously so funny
listen to cosmic psychos

The Sopranos is so good. I just rewatched for the 3rd time with my girlfriend who saw it for the first time. We watched 4 or 5 episodes some days because she couldn't get enough.

The whole Christopher (aka Cristafah)/Adriana/FBI storyline... It's so fucked. And when Christopher moves on to that basic bitch after Adriana and becomes this suburban dad and it's clear that he's not cut out for that life is so smart. He loved Adriana and loved the drama.

I love Artie Bucco too. The scene when he's pointing the hunting rifle at Tony is just great.

And yes, Pine Barrens just might be the best episode of television of all time.

Yes, I forgot about Artie. And you are 100% right on about the scene with the hunting rifle. It's an incredible scene. I love how Tony was all, "Artie, I didn't burn down your restaurant. Swear on my mother."

For me it’s all the extras in the movie’s that didn’t get enough shine so instead they sometimes get an episode to show their versatility. Great show totally slept on it when first came out.

Such a great show. Paulie and Silvio had a lot of great moments in the first couple of seasons. Pine Barrens is probably the best episode of the show.

I really liked Phil Leotardo's arc during the last season of the show, too

As pathetic as he is, Artie is entertaining haha. And Charmaine Bucco is absolutely stunning

I didn't have HBO when it originally aired and I just never watched. Started with my wife 2 weeks ago and we are halfway through season 3. Fucking love this show. Paulie is the fucking GOAT.

Also, when my company does jobs in NYC we usually stay in Paramus. I was looking up local strip clubs and the Bada Bing showed up, but it had a different name. So I went. One of the dancers came up to me and asked "What brings you out here tonight?" I look at her and say "television history". She looked confused as fuck and walked away.

This is going to quickly become my favorite thread. Thank you for starting it.

I gotta go with Silvio. Quiet and to the point when it comes to business. Tony picking him as his right-hand was perfect. The card game scene always gets me. "I fuckin love havin cheese at my feet!" "I'm losin my balls over here!" Still fucked up the way he had to take out Adrianna, though.

Gotta give credit to Uncle Jun, too. Dominic Chianese is such a brilliant actor. I could never truly tell whether Jun was faking the Alzheimer's thing or not.

One of my favorite parts was when Chrissy was high at Olivia’s wake. But even better was when Carmella called Chrissy out on being high at the wake in the intervention. Massive pay off!  ;D

Paulie, Uncle Jun or Bobby definitely. They're all terrible people but Paulie was just dumb and wanted to make $ and stay alive. The scene with him outside of Satriale's during the last episode is depressing. "You're weak, you're outta control and you've become an embarrassment to yourself and everyone else."
Bobby was the only good hearted person of them all, just born into it sadly. How he mentions his father never wanted that life for him you can see the resentment on Tony's face. Sad shit.

Also Johnny Sack was the man for not ever having a goomah and sticking by Ginny. "NICOTINE IS AN ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE!"

Edit: have to add my favorite quote from the entire series.
"Ya never gonna believe this! Guy was an interior decorator, he killed 16 Czechoslovakians!"
"Interior decorator? His housed looked like shit..."
