Damn this was fun. Cool video. Depressing thread.

Thread is entertaining if you read it like an indicator of when every individual poster (hypothetically) has had fun skating for the last time. Browsing through it my brain just spontaneously registered every comment like that: 'this guy, six weeks, this person, oh, at least three months. Ah, finally someone who can relate, cool. Oh, now the mandatory undercover sales rep and - damn holy shit, this guy sells socks for sure!'.

Serious talk about pro skaters 'beating' other pro skaters had me rolling, too, that's some Thanos vs. Goku shit.

Vid was cool, can't believe all the funny insecurities it's been triggering.

For all the people questing why she's pro, if only there was a better selection of videos on thrashermagazine.com that had high flying action, serious risk factors, hell riding transition gnarlage, ledge dancing wizardry, calculus grade quick feet, and man on wire level handpipe grindage. I really feel for you guys. Hopefully skateboarding will one day cater towards you guys.

The kid can skate for sure.

Saw her grow up since I hung around/helped at contests she used to enter when she was a grom.

At first she was a full ‘80’s powell peralta’ worship girl that only skated shaped powell decks while wearing an 80’s helmet. She learned old school styled tricks in the bowls/pools.

She also took it all pretty serious and was pretty quiet back then.

Then came a new crew, a local park, drinking, weed etc. and she went a different route. Definitely changed it up style - and personality wise ...

She can definitely skate and she really is like that crazy around friends.

For this part I wish she filmed a pool part, because she rips. This was fun and I get the bits, I just expected more because I know she can do it. And the smith stall is used a bit  too much.

The skating was whatever, she rips, did a few cool tricks, im pretty jaded on whats impressive now a days. I actually enjoyed that song and all the stupid shit too

the skating was tight. Guy or girl or elephant or dog or whatever....  if a guy put out that part id be stoked on it. That rock to fakie on that steep bank to wall was super sick. I bet a lot of the guys claiming to be “better” than her in this thread couldn’t do that haha.

You know when you're at a spot and someone is battling a rock fakie on some smaller obstacle. They slam and struggle until they finally get a shaky make. Their friends cheer as do most people present, adding to their stoke. Then there's the local park shark, squinting into the distance as if all this somehow shortchanges him terribly. Of course Maite is not the rock fakier in this analogy. But there are definitely some salty park sharks in this thread.

Maite rips and will get a lot of girls into skating which is cool. A tad zany, sure. But the Olympics may well cookie-cut skating in an unprecedented way so I think we can do with a few more Maites.

I don't know what I was expecting her voice to sound like but it definitely wasn't like that. Hearing skaters voices is always weird to me. This part wasn't really my style but I appreciated that she obviously had a lot of fun making it.

I reckon people are just still stuck in the butthurt 'I could do that, why's she pro,' mentality. I used to think like that too. Cats just gotta realise no one's forcing it down your throat, if you don't like it it's just another stranger living it up. Plenty out there, just gotta live your own life. Get stoked on others success if you can. If not, live it up best you can. The success of strangers ain't an affront to whatever you can get going on.

Creativity, style, and fun. Loved this video, even if the skits aren't up your alley their short and basically just b roll,  don't understand the hate at all. Maite is like a female Jamal Smith IMO

At the end of the day she got supported by really cool people in the Euro scene, which probably means that she's appreciated for who she is and how she skates. Also, the circumstances and the times are really good for her right now which is just blessing.
She also came in Sicily and skated around with the Gonz and some other Adidas fellas when I was in Australia.. I can see she's stoked!
