It’s a bit rough and you wouldn’t do it for more than a week straight cause of the Mercury but if you only eat canned tuna, not the tasty ones either but the ones in spring water, yeah if you eat only that but as many as you want and only drink water for a week and then drop back and have only the tuna and water maybe two days a week in addition to some sort of healthy eating plan or counting calories for the rest of the week yeah you’ll defz lose weight quickly, particularly in the first week

Also if you enjoy walking or running do it a couple days a week but honestly for best long term weight loss just lift weights rather than doing cardio for an hour

edit: Just saw you mentioned the mercury but still, you can keep this one.

edit#2: I don't need to lose weight, but look forward to seeing ya'll making progress. I get sucked into to those "I lost this amount of weight in this amount of time" youtube videos a bit too often.

I lost weight during Covid. I’ve had very little work and money for a year. The anxiety and boredom caused me to do yoga and a bunch of home gym exercises. I also picked up running for awhile.

I'm with ya man. I gained 25 since this shit started. No diet change either other than a little bit more booze. It's funny in your 40s you can gain weight just thinking about food.  I chose 20, and once the snow melts and I can get outside it should be fairly easy (I hope)

Still, I will attest to the benefits of straight canned tuna. Great protein density.

Damnit, Garden... feeling very attacked rn. I reached a lifetime high score of 200 pounds.
That's 20 bucks overweight for me.

I splurged on a complete in December and only skated two or three times. My depression has been a mfer.
But, I'm transitioning through a manic phase and trying to ride this out with wisdom and lessons learned in therapy.
Returning to exercise that isn't grinding time in a gym but rather spent on an activity I love would be great for mental health.
Plus, I've had in mind a long time to develop switch pushing. That would be some epic cardio.

For those of us with ample fats coupled with an inverse quantity of determination, I suggest steaks... I mean stakes.

What are we willing to sacrifice for fat loss?

When I have wanted to loose weight in the past I have usually sacrificed sugar, white bread, white pasta and Beer. They are fairly easy to replace if you don't mind whole grain alternatives, white wine, dark chocolate and fruit. Obviously you also need time to prepare your own food. It also gives me a much more steady flow of energy and after about a week I loose almost all cravings for sugar.

That type of diet probably takes a bit longer to work than going 100 Percent tuna, but I would assume it is much healthier in the long run. You will also take very big shits. Almots like a cow.

I got enough fat for a TM, riders, box packers & angel investors for the company to later sell out to alike.

Since July i bought a Specialized bike & have been walking every day for 3-4 miles. Some days, I try to run & beat my time. I still smoke pot so my late nite munchies don't help (I tear up Animal Crackers, you're supposed only have 13 at most)

After dark, I go into my basement where there are dumbells & a bench press & I get it on. I have found weight training guides & created a program for myself for legs, shoulders, chest & biceps. I do situps, crunches, & leg raises for abs. My two rules: try to go slow & try to beat my last sessions' expenditures & exertions.

I really found that a fitness tracker helps & logging all the food you put in your body helps with using that tracker so you can get an idea of the progress you're making. I believe most Doctors believe fitbits are BS but he said "whatever gets you out there!"

I have lost 6" off my waist & about 60 lbs. Besides having to replace my clothes, I feel great and if the snow ever disappears, im sooo geeked to hit the streets for a skkkkratch er 2 or 3.

Lastly, if "you don't feel like working out" a lot, buy some pre-workout with 1-3 Dmaa, its the closest thing to legal meth. I put this shit in a glass with 3 ounces of water and pound it, and 5 minutes later im basically this guy in this video

https://youtu.be/RCG7qJAP7Qk

I wish all you Pals/Future Pals all the luck in taking back the streets!
I got beef with Brian sumner and it’s onsite for that fat fucking red coat.

I'm in for 10 to 15 . Currently about 205. I am ok with floating between 190 and 200.

2lbs a week is a healthy amount to lose right?

My diet has been terrible since the mental health of isolation has taken its toll. I'm boozing and eating whatever nowadays like every day is a cheat day. I'm too old to be doing that to myself.

I'm in. I'll look at 20lbs as my goal. Let's do this pals.

I think it is a bit too much. When I used to do lots of sports and I was on a state team I had to get regular physicals. The doctor marked it as critical and unhealthy, if you had lost more than 12 pounds in three months.  I'd go for like a pound per week max. In my experience people with radical diets never lost weight in the long run. My mother for example would do these crazy fasts and strict diets. She'd be in a bad mood for the whole diet. And she would quickly get back to her regular weight (just a little bit overweight) in just a few months after the diet. She has never liked her weight, but always obsessed about it. She probably has a bit of an eating disorder... Also for the past 3 years I have more or less regularly listened to the Joe Rogan experience and him and his comic friends always seem to be starting new diets, but they never loose weight in the long run. Joe Diaz is probably the exception. He has been slowly losing weight for almost two years now. I think he just changed up his eating and exercise habits instead of going vegan or low carb or only meat or something crazy like that.

I am in.   Henry Rollins said that when he started lifting, his coach told him not to check out his progress until a month or two down the road.  I can't stand looking at myself in the mirror these days, but it will be interesting to see how I have changed by July 1st.

Down 12lbs this year, in a contest to see who loses the most in 3 months. Loser buys the winner a deck. I’m very down to get in on a pals weight loss.

I’m going for 50lbs. Bold goal, but gotta get serious about my health

I'm currently at 193lbs from being 210lbs-ish last year, but I wanna be in the 150's by this mid summer, so my vote went for 30+

I used to be way heavier though at 320lbs. I'll be turning 29 next month, so perhaps it's just easier to lose weight at this age than it is for some of you more mature slappers, but this is what I've been doing...

Back in early summer 2019 I cut sugar from my diet besides natural sugars and also started calorie counting. As for working out I would walk 4MPH for one hour and I started to do some beginner weight lifting, I would do this about 4 or 5 times a week. I also drank a ton of water daily, like a gallon or at least close to it. After being consistent for a bit I dropped down to 220lbs-ish by early 2020...

So then in 2020 when shit hit the fan, I only lost about 10lbs and plateaued for the entire year despite still working out and even skating again for the first time in almost a decade. I blew it because despite keeping active I was no longer counting calories and casually consuming sugary snacks again. It sucks, but at least I maintained my weight and no progress was exactly lost.

Since the beginning of this year I'm back to calorie counting and cut down on sugar but I didn't cut it out completely this time though, for example if I want a sandwich or something and it only has like 3 grams of added sugar or so I'll let it slide for the day. At worst I'll consume a few grams but try to keep it under 10 and not make it a daily habit. For exercise  I'm doing heavier weight lifting now and only walking 4MPH for half an hour afterwards just for a little cardio. I'm only working out 4 days a week but would like to skate during the other days once the weather around here clears up.

Anyways, that's pretty much what I've been up to in order to try being healthy again. I've never tried any gimmicks or trends, just simple exercise, a healthier diet and staying hydrated. I'm also laying off salty foods sometimes but not as drastically as sugar.

As for food, this is what I regularly eat:

Eggs
Tuna
Turkey Bacon
Skinless Chicken Breast
Oatmeal
Beans
White Rice
Fruits and Veggies
Chorizo
Sugar Free Jello
Potatoes
Peanut Butter or Bologna Sandwiches...
And I'll usually allow myself a cheat day on Fridays, but I just try not to go overboard.

So yeah, that's about it, and as for why I was so heavy the TLDR version is I tore my ACL back in 2010, reinjured it in 2011, stopped skating, finally got the surgery in 2013, fell into depression and picked up bad eating habits from my Mexican family while sitting at home.

Good luck.

Sup Pals!  I'm 6'3" and am sitting around 220lbs right now.  I feel my best around 190ish, but think I'm good for 20lbs.  I'm in a friends wedding later this summer and want to "She's All That" some people I haven't seen in awhile.

Like a lot of you guys, I've been drinking too much through the pandemic and have had dry weeks here and there lately, but always end up getting trashed on the weekends.  Woof!

I'm vegan and have no excuses to be this overweight.  Dr told me everyone is slipping right now.  I live in MI, so I've only been out to skate a couple times, but it seems like spring is coming in quicker this year.  Going to be skating, biking, watching my beer consumption, and might be starting a job soon where I'll basically be on my feet all day.  I know that's going to kick my ass for a couple days, but think it will help a lot.

Let's get this!

I lost 20 pounds by the new year, then put about ten back on since. I’d like to get back to that weight since it’s noticeably easier on my knees and ankles (not in great shape from nearly a decade of being 75+ pounds overweight). I skate a bunch and do weight  training a few times a week, so since I’m not drinking these days, I should be on my way just by eating less trash.

Alright. I weighed in at 163 last time I was at the doc. I'm 5'8 and feel most comfortable around 145-150. To the bystander, i look fit enough but i got some back fat/love handles going on for the first time. Back after Thanksgiving, I'd started running again, month 1 at 30-45 min every other day, month 2, 45-60min. Cycling on days between and walking 2-3miles with my partner in the AM 6days. Hiking a few miles a few days a week too. Skating low impact stuff 45-60min 3 or 4 days per week. Then I slipped running and am only now just able to walk and bike again. No skating or running. I've been doing some intermittent fasting 6days per week with no food from 10pm-2pm for a couple months as well. Cut out the processed sugars and generally eat well, but can seem to drop any lbs without being extremely active. No booze, minimal added sugar, minimal fat/meat. Looking forward to running again. Fuck back fat!

That double down thing was pisser, companguero, I had never heard of that show before I will check it out

Yeah I mean I wouldn’t run it long term but I lost a bit of weight a few years ago I did the tuna thing for maybe ten days. I lost a few kilos in first week which sort of inspired me to keep going in a sustainable fashion. It’s like well if you can eat tuna for a week straight you can do anything haha
