Hey I don't know if I'm too late, but I've skated a bit in Costa Rica and there's some good stuff around. In San Jose there's a park with a checkered floor that you can see in the first Tiltmode video. Street stuff is around, but the ground is pretty rough in most areas. If you're headed to either Tamarindo or Jaco, there's a snake run in both. Plus when I was there they were building this place, which looks fucking insane. http://www.concretedisciples.com/skateparksdb/skateparks_display.php?id=2062. Have fun man, I'm jealous.

I'm thinking about going to Costa Rica in December. Any good leads on which shops there are legit? And any other advice?

I was there early this year. Skated the tamarindo park. Reminded me of the random parks I skated on family trips in like 2005. Old Surfer Expats doing kickturns. I didn't see a skateshop. Just surf shops that sold completes or had a small section

I literally skated tamarindo park in 2005. I've been dreaming about that place ever since. Can't wait to go back some day

Sorry to bump an old thread but heading to Costa Rica on Saturday. not sure if it’s worth bringing the board or not. Saw a park kinda close to where I’m staying near quepos but looks kinda shitty. Anyone have any leads to spots or other parks nearby ?

Ive never been but I have a lot of friends from Costa Rica. Skating is pretty dope over there from what Ive seen. Dont know how far you will be from Guanacaste or San Jose but there are a few parks and spots in general.

I regret not bringing my board in 2012, I stayed in Manuel Antonio on the pacific side. If you like relaxing and/or the ocean and getting a glimpse of wild animals, definitely check out Manuel Antonio

Yea we’re supposed to be going there for a day. I feel like I always regret not bringing the board when I travel without
