When I was a kid I wanted Ricta wheels so bad. The team was stacked and the wheels looked so cool with the raised lettering. Fury trucks too, but as I got older and noticed not even the riders rode the trucks, I lost interest. Black magic though!! I pretty muched loved all shortys gear

Grit wise Black Magic feels 1 grade below Mob, 2 above Jessup, and stays gritty even 5 weeks into a deck. Same with Pepper which feels just below Black Magic, so 1 grade above Jessup.

Speaking of Mob I have a few sheets of M80 I got on clearance, looking to see if it's less gritty than standard Mob.

M80 is less grippy, that was the whole schtick; think of it like Jessup and Jessup Ultra.

Oh yeah, I think black grizzly is great. It’s in between mob and jessup.

If I order a board from a large online shop, I pick grizzly.

Grizzly feels like it's already worn down to me. Since this is Slap they're probably not popular but April. Mellow BBS decks, some graphics are tolerable, and they're always on sale it seems.

There's a hardware brand called Iron Horse that always stays black. ATM Click uses BBS decks too.

As for clothes Rustler makes pants that fit like all these en vogue baggies.

I have always preferred Black Magic grip, seems pretty uncommon these days.
Ooo I absolutely love black magic it's my preference over jessup and mob. Grew up on it.

I bought a whole roll of it online because it's impossible to find locally still the best grip.

All the products out of SOP (ATM, acid, iron horse) are top tier, minus those price point trucks. They just get a bad rap for being a “Zumiez brand” and when in all actuality, the were just years ahead of the rest of the industry. They got shit on for selling price point boards to a mall chain, now every company does it. It’s how you stay alive

I've had Acid wheels and they're very middle of the road, but you can't mess with BBS generics with acceptable graphics and decent hardware.

Speaking of hardware another brand I got hooked on from a thread on here is Lawn Chair- the bolts stay black for forever. The nuts are a little big, but I've got tons of low profile ones from Ace hardware to use.

5Boro

I’m sure there are plenty of CT heads that feel this way for nostalgia sake.

Got love for Shut skates, had one of the HHF decks and loved the shape. Rodney Smith was a really nice guy too. Never got to try 5B sadly

5boro rules. Got into them since they were giving Alex Kehoe boards way back when

For decks, I usually use unpopular/small brands like Studio, Hotel Blue, Black Label, Bluecoach, Tantrum, Snack…
But for wheels and trucks I go the easy way, Independent/Venture and Spitfires mostly.

5boro is great - what steve has done for the nyc skate community is amazing. he was influential in getting the banks back and is working on getting that park built in prospect. fully support his brand, only decks i ride these days.
