BI had a flash show at a warehouse in the middle of the day right before they flew out for the Obituary tour.

I've been on one too.  You ever check out Kommand?  Newish band from LA, has that mid-paced BT vibe.

I caught like the last 4 minutes of Frozen Soul's set and I knew I blew it. I had been listening to the that first LP and the advance singles for the new one and really liked the older stuff but thought the new cuts didn't have the same sound. I still wish I saw that set as they sounded so good. The singer is huge, basically looked like a pro wrestler, and his voice is very legit.
them cats are out getting mashed up to jungle, he's out mashing up jungle cats. it's just not gonna work.

Pretty bummed I caught the last few songs of their set when they opened for brujeria and Napalm death… back in January? Ish. They’re coming back soon tho. Ain’t missing it this time…

on the Bolt Thrower inspired bands. on the last Hellshock (technicly a crust band) album the influence is even clearer than the previous album. love it

had never heard of Kommand. theyre sick.

i'd say:
Death 'Scream Bloody Gore'
Autopsy ' Severed Survival'
Morbid Angel 'Altars of Madness'
Entombed 'Left Hand Path'
Incantation 'Onward to Golgotha'

not necessarily my personal top 5 but I'd say those are the all must-have's

listen to Undergang and listen all the various offshoots and side projects of the band members.  Phrenelith, Sequestrum, Ulcerot, Chaotian, and my personal favorite, Wormridden (singer of Undergang and drummer of Anatomia)

I miss Necrophagist. Rumor has it Mohammed has the entire 3rd album sitting on a hard drive in his house but is either too lazy to find it or just doesn’t wanna bother releasing it cause it would mean taking time off from his job as BMW engineer. At least Obscura and Alkaloid are somewhat carrying the torch.

Was jamming Ruination by Job for a Cowboy yesterday for the first time in a few years and forgot how much that album rips.

Probably my all-time fav death metal album, absolutely immaculate mainly due to Kevin Talley's drumming.
