i'm 15 seconds in and hes surfing county line, kookiest spot in LA and that's saying something

He did pack up his right hand drive geo track to catch some early morning waves out in Rockaway. You gotta give him some cred for that. Though tolls are no jokes. I hope he had an EZpass in that thing.

if there's a chance you're gonna be over something in a year or two, don't start a company and put a bunch of people on the team where they're going to be expecting you to pay them, communicate well, show up to premieres, or get stuff made on their behalf. if you're scatterbrained like this, you should not be running a creative enterprise where other people depend on you. IMO.

I think we got an alright trade-off. If Alex was fully focused on 917 it would be a very different company. He talks about how Logan took it upon himself to make the entire video and didn't even show Alex until the day of the premiere, and Alex hated it when he saw it. But he trusted Logan and we got one (and then two) of the best videos of this era.

Who knows what the company would even be like if Alex was focused on it. When they came to Australia Logan was completely running the show, it just seemed like his company. I think Logan's new brand will be more 917 than 917 was.

When did Logan leave? Are Cyrus and Max riding for Logan's company?

Isn't Logan's company just Frog?

It's too bad Toy Machine didn't embrace Alex, Cyril Mountain and Caswell but took the Billy Marks/Johnny Layton route.

What is the difference between WIP and regular? Besides price obviously.

The WIP pants are usually a little slimmer/ more tailored cut. For me, the regular carhartt stuff always fits like two trash bags on each leg but I’ve seen other people pull them off.

This articulates perfectly how everything they make fits me. Standard Carhartt sizing is wild.

Same with Arc'teryx.

But real talk, what pair do I get if I need to do carpentry in the AM, but roll up look fresh in the PM? If there's a slimmer version that gets bonus points.

My thoughts after watching this video

1. Watching him meditate / squeezing his organs explained the strange noises my man-bun type neighbor does every morning.

2. Alex seems to change his outfits every 6 months

3. I wonder what I’ll be doing now if my dad was an extravagant pro skater from the 70s/80s

4. He’s got a fucking TR-808. I need that Nike money too !

5. He can’t concentrate on things more than two days and I can relate to him, I always want do to 10 things simultaneously.

6. He’s got a great skate style.

Yeah if anyone knows where to find WIP for cheap let us know. My regular Carhartt jacket fits like a bulky box.

not that I could even make this up, but there is an ad i always get for someone on etsy or something selling a tailored version of these double kneed pants and in the picture the person wearing them has them pinrolled.  so my guess is that

Anyone paying $145 for 'fashion carhartts' has lost their goddamn mind.

Especially given that there are substantially identical double knee Carhartt pants for $100 cheaper at ranch supply stores or really anywhere that sells workwear.

Here in France there are outlet Carhartt stores, especially in the southwest. There might be some in the US no ?

I bought pants for like 30 euros because the Carhartt tag was missing

hmmm good points and interesting take. if that is the case i sincerely hope mr. lara goes for it. those videos are timeless. lara/johnny wilson crew combo would be such a powerhouse. wouldn't even need to get fancy with the graphics tbh.

I really like that color and I haven’t been able to find any like that, I probably would just buy those pants if they had my size. So if anyone knows pants that are similar in color and fit let me know

I have a pair of black Carhartts that have looked exactly like that since about a month after I started wearing them skating.  They were a factory second and cost me $30.

One of the things I really appreciate about AO, and maybe this has already been mentioned, is that he’s got both a standout frontside and backside 360 and they both look incredible. Usually a pro only  has one or the other on lock I think.

idgaf I love the man.

that last song was dope

Sounds like he's influenced by Tyco and his style ...seems also like synths are getting popular again,  seeing the roland 808 was pretty cool.

He lives the way I daydream about living if I had money and didn’t have to work a job.  Just investing in and fucking around with any hobby that catches my attention.  Happy for him, he’s earned it by being one of the sickest skaters of all time.
